Anybody know much about these trails near lake Arrowhead?
Yeah, those are a few of the famous (not) Lake Arrowhead North Shore trails. There's more than what you're showing. Here's a screenshot of the KMZ file from Google Earth that I referenced in post #1 of this thread that shows all the official trails/roads:

The orange lines correspond to what's shown in your screenshot. Those are narrow OHV trails (mostly motorcycles). The blue'ish lines are fire roads. And there's more there than what's shown in the KMZ.

This time of year, you'll probably be sharing the OHV trails with motorcycles -- but they're easy to hear coming. The OHV trails also aren't always bike friendly, with very steep pitches in spots.

Yeah, don't ride there on a weekend. That area is accessible from two OHV staging areas. It will be busy.

In 25 years of living here, I've only rode that area once. It's not fun. I'd rather Jeep out there. There's better places to ride. Dogwood, Exploration and everything in Big Bear. Then there's some secrets but I'll tell you. Especially if you like DH.

And with Mountain High open, there's five bike parks here. Three are lift accessed.

Rim Nordic? Never heard of that one.... have i been living under a rock?
It's across the highway from Snow Valley. Races have been held there forever. XC and Super D. It's fun to explore as you make your way across the mountain. You can park at Lake View turnout.and drop in for vert. Riding back up the highway is sketch but that's how we get to the start.besides XC. It's beautiful in there too.

I'm curious, what exactly did you ride once to form that opinion of the area? If you start on the east end by North Shore CG (by the hospital) and head west, there's nearly 1000 ft drop to the bottom of 3W13 (Sewer Pond Trail) or 3W65 (North Shore Trail). Done in that direction, it's a blast. Then you can loop back on 3N34 and climb 3W12 North Shore NRT singletrack (steep in spots) and pop out right at the corner of the CG.

Dogwood is interesting but waaay too small of an area. I just checked -- last time I rode there was about 8 years ago. But I've driven by it many times to get to other stuff.

ohh... so not a lift serve bike park.

I thought we were talking about lift served bike parks.

It's not lift served but they have a lease with the forest service and it's technically pay to play on your honor. There was a race there two weekends ago. I didn't go. I think the Rim Nordic XC Series is four races. It's a tough course. It starts with a grinder of a climb.
