Not only a e-bike, but you’re over biked. I’m reporting you to the brah kings mountain biking society. Your punishment?
Non acceptance.
This is my continious problem on this site.... If im not riding an 180mm E. im on a 170/180mm or god forbid 200mm rig.

I'm languishing in various levels of non acceptable.

But, out on the trail.... I have the biggest gins!

Reading this thread, my conclusion is that the good old US of A is full of douche's and crazy people.
A perfect example is the douche who rides this eMtb:

Guys like him perfectly embody the arrogant eMtb rider. A real ambassador of his "sport".

I here in NZ I would say 99.9% of the time my interactions with other trail users are sweet as. Even when I've "accidentally" strayed onto hiking only trails.
Just the one population center I live in has like 40% more people than all of NZ. So yeah, it's true that here in the US, we have more crazies in total. But that doesn't take away from the fact that the overwhelming majority people here are indeed very nice. Especially when you treat them with basic decency and etiquette.

I see zero reasons why that trail should be open to Mtb and closed to E. I call douche baggery at local body government level. I would bet there are some e-haters in that establishment being douches.

Some times rules need to changed because they are outdated..... often times it takes a ground swell of bootleg riders to force the issue and affect change.
There Isnt any trails around here open to mtb and not open to E and that us how it should be.

I'm not going to call you names.
I'm going to assume that wasn't you because I suspect you don't even ride bikes anymore.

There's a weird, stupid, arbitrary network of illegal and legal singletrack according to City's own e-bike rules and faq page. How do you know which trail I was on?

You don't know jack about this area, about the efforts of volunteers to maintain these trails for everyone, almost always without the participation of mountain bikers, near a city of almost a million people.

Was that you I saw out there today?
Unless you ride your motorbike at 6am, nope.

If it was up to you, all of the legal stuff in the East Mountains would be off limits too. Good thing it's not up to you, and it's only a matter of time before all of those red areas are green too.

Were you out there digging on Birdhouse or Three Bottles?

Thoughts & Prayers.

It's a motorcycle.
Tyler
I ride an Adventure 'motorcycle' as well.
You are showing your ignorance between eMTB's and motorcycles.
I can assure you there are no similarities between the motor/engine of the 2 bikes and my input effort to ride them.
A motorcycle has a throttle to control the engine power. A twist of the wrist.
An eMTB has peddles which require a rider to activate the motor by pedaling, inputting variable effort from mild to extreme depending on the climb and terrain.

I hope you don't demonstrate this sort of prejudice or bigotry with other aspects of your life.

Or, hopefully, you are just ****-stirring

if only it was financially viable to have some kind of local-area radio comms that disabled e-bikes in areas where they weren’t allowed.

I think a simple visit from @ilmfat and The Intervention Institute would do the trick.

Absolutely. I have zero issues with ebikes. I have zero issues with incapacitated or disabled people using mechanically assisted transportation to access wilderness areas. What does annoy me is perfectly fit & healthy, self entitled clowns that think they're above the law and can ride their electric motor powered bikes wherever they want. Just because.
