In all seriousness, someone needs to do an upside down shootout. 3 well regarded forks put through their paces by someone who can keep marketing budgets out of the equation
Yeah that's hard part. Ideally you want someone who is
A. Wealthy enough to buy them and not be bothered if they don't perform.
B. Able to describe how they perform
C. Someone who can be sent all three to review and be able to give a review even if it's unfavourable and doesn't risk them getting sent more stuff to review.

I remember how underwhelmed I was putting a Ohlins TTX on my Enduro when they came out. But I think for a shock it wasn't a bad thing, it just disappeared and gripped. I often think a fork has more influence on the bike compared to the rear shock as you're asking it to steer and brake as well.

I have the goldilocks Avy damper in a new-ish 36 chassis and I have no desire to install it in my Intend. The Intend damper is fine for my needs. The "custom tuned damper" lore is just that - a story for your peers.
I’m really happy with my Avy damper in my 38 honestly, but since selling my Dorado a couple seasons back, I keep wondering what this damper in a USD fork would be like. I have no doubt the Intend damper is great, I have a couple buddies in them that are really happy. But I’d love to be able to move my Avy damper over into an Intend (or other USD) fork if possible.

I've also an avy cart for my old Lyrink, and I think it is possible, the cap thread on the Intend forks is like the Rock Shox fine pitch of the 35mm. I'm not aware how the un-thread the upper caps, because I think is needed some special tool from the inside; instead for the lowers cap, you just need a 6mm hole to fix the cart
Should be possible, but I admit the Intend cart is not very far from the avy one; the avy for sure require more oil and then a heavier installation

Since you guys are discussing dampers - Simon (The suspension engineer) from Intend, has started his own thing, and will be offering after market dampers for most popular forks - And Intend.

Will be interesting to see if its possible to order the intend forks from "factory" with his dampers in them. Planned release for the stuff is Spring 2026 apparently.

I like this kind of stuff, but I think that the pressurized IFP for forks bring more complexity for home maintenance than effective performance improving; intend cart is so easy to service ....

I am no suspension guru, but isnt it fairly easy to service still since its spring pressurised, rather than nitrogen/compressed air as rear shocks are? Or am I clueless.

HBO is a nice feature though

IME, avalanche damper all day long. I just serviced my fork with it a few days ago. It’s literally open cap, dump oil, add same amount of new oil. Theres the claim that pressurized cartridges are better, but Ive never found one for forks that perform better in actuality. Open bath is just so much easier.

I definitely don't know what I'm talking about - but isn't the general consensus that orifice damping (what the HSC is showing in the pic) is bad?
I think it's more like disabling some areas of shimstack above subjected to oil flow, ports which left open have enough cross-section to not cause unwanted behaviors.

Has anyone imported one of these into the US in the last month or two that can say what the tariff charge on them were?

I've been hit unexpectedly a few times and a tariff on a $2k fork can be pretty significant, I'd like to try this out but have no clue what to expect.

I've ridden many forks that I'd consider noodley and the dorado has never been anything but super solid and controlled.
Haha you're nuts if you think the dorado is torsionally stiff lol, unrideable noodle that doesn't even return straight after flexing. The edge (on Ollie's bike) is torsionally stiffer than my 38, and miles stiffer than dorado. See the vid pinkbike posted of me twisting the fork at sea otter. Crazy haha. The steering is never straight while riding. Nevermind the air spring curve feeling like doodoo...
Intend FTW

maybe reach out and ask, number would be good to have huh! I can tell you that dorado was hilarious, you can easily see my effort and minimal strain- felt like I could do a barspin if I tried hard enough lol. Maxi from intend was there too, we were cracking up :ROFLMAO:
Oh it definitely twists. Just need a more elegant way of measuring it.
