I need to see it while I ride
How much is your phone worth? If you are doing moderate trails there is naturally a risk to damaging your phone. Motorbike vibrations have been killing iPhone cameras (I'm sure Android too) so it depends.
If you are serious enough to have a power meter, then look at any stand alone computer (Wahoo, Garmin etc) that supports power data. They are more robust and will let you stash your phone away safely.
If you aren't concerned about your phone then just get some kind of Quad Lock and case.

I'm looking for a mount for attaching my phone to cockpit.
I've just inherited a sram powermetr and want to use the SRAM AXS app as its the most cost effective option.
Thanks
Per other posts above;

Once you break the phone, the most cost effective option is not strapping it to your cockpit.

Buy a small computer that has power meter compatability.

Quadlock my man. Everyone here is telling you to stow your phone in your pack and they are right. But if you really want a device in your cockpit, Quadlock is where it’s at. I keep my phone in my pack but I use an older phone (sim-less) as my GPS. Solid interface which has never popped off or come loose in over a decade of use. Placement is important as well, I keep mine over the stem to minimize damage if I eat it on the trail.

I agree with the above, put it in your pocket/pack. But, if you are absolutely determined to have it visible, I would use one of the little bags that straps to your top tube and steerer that the phone goes in with a clear viewer rather than a mount that just holds it. I have one, I think I bought it for road navigation, and found it annoying but I would find having a phone clamped to my handlebar to be annoying as well.

Gorilla tape. It wont let you down.

Save time and just chuck it on the ground.
Might as well chuck himself on the ground at the same time, perhaps on top of the phone since that's where they'll both end up if he's staring at the phone while trying to ride anything that's not a trainer. He'll have to get someone to toss the bike on top of him for more realism though.

Ditto on the Quad Lock.
I use my phone on my bike all the time.
In my early days (5 years ago), I did once damage my phones screen in a crash.
Never since. It certainly could happen but not likely the way the Quad Lock positions it.

I also do moderate riding and don't crash very often.
If you're hard core and crash a lot maybe not a good option.

I tried a bunch of the generic phone holders from Amazon and didn't like them nearly as much.

I noticed that for some phones, Amazon has knock-off Quad Lock cases that say they're as good as the original.
I would definitely by the original mount though.

Also, althought the Quad Lock case isn't too thick and could be used all the time, I prefer to use it only when I ride.
It takes 10 seconds to switch to my regular case.

Their customer support is excellent too. Although they're fairly robust, I have had some break.
The have on-line warranty support (forgot if it's 1 or 2 years) and you just fill out their form and send a picture and they send out a replacement part in days.

Another option. Allows for quick access. I position the phone on my sternum. They make one for larger phones.

I used the QuadLock for years, until me and another biker went down in a creek and landed on the phone...

Glad it was an old S7 that I just used for mountain biking. If you use a phone on a handlebar mount make sure it is not your only phone!
I had a Gorilla glass cover on it, didn't help :) I still use the QuadLock in my truck.

Originally when I took a phone on my MTB I used an old phone and swapped the sim card each time but that's a PITA.
Then I decided it was very unlikely I'd destroy my phone riding with it given how I ride (though not impossible) and have opted to use it with a Quad Lock.

Hopefully, I'll never regret it.

QUAD LOCK. Been using one on all my bikes for 10+ years. never once damaged my phone. Only place I don't use it is in the bike park but it stays secure even on double black enduro type trails. Meanwhile, I'v had multiple friends crash with their phone is a pants pocket and destroy their phone's screen. The pack is probably the safest place but I need easy access to my phone as I'm the lead navigator on our rides.
