Magura brakes interfering with garmin speed sensor 2

Has anybody experienced this? My garmin speed sensor 2 will go crazy after riding for a bit. Sometime it’s 12 minutes in sometimes it’s 45. It will start reading upwards of 70mph.

I think it’s the magnetic brake calipers on the Magura brakes. Anybody else experience this? I love Magura brakes. But I also really want to use a speed sensor. GPS in the summer tree coverage is not accurate.

are there other speed sensors?

Yes, it’s a great system. But I think it’s screwing up my speed sensor. I might try a different front brake as a test but don’t really want to…

I mean you could try the sensor on the rear but I suspect it will be the same distance from the rear caliper. Or try on another bike just to make sure it's not the sensor being funny.

I use Magura on all 4 bikes 😂. I guess I could by another sensor and try it. I don’t think it’s the sensor but who knows….

No such experience with the speed sensor and Magura calipers here. Something else is going on with your speed sensor.

You need a friend with a bike!! 🤣

Or do a lap round the block with the front caliper round your handlebar or something?

so your are running the garmin speed sensor 2 and Magura brakes? If so I’ll buy a new sending and try it.

I run the speed sensor 2 with mt5 brakes with no issues
