stripped thread trek rail carbon frame

hi
have a stripped tread in one of the bolts (front under the top tube) that secure the motor protection plate
Any tips?
Upsizing the bolt?

Contact Trek, see if it's covered by warranty.

If not look for a local carbon repair specialist.

This. Had a similar situation with my Pivot Shuttle and a helicoil saved the day.

Well if the thread is in to carbon, it's probably a rivnut. You should be able to very carefully drill it out and replace it.

It could be bonded, a rivnut, or a clip, depending on the actual design.

None of them are really repairable with a helicoil. The first is your best case, though.

If this is for a design cover, 3m VHB tape would probably be a better option for securing it.
