Jolanda certainly seems to have found her mojo again. She had a dominant win over a very good field this weekend.

I know Jolanda has struggled to find the right coach over the past couple of years. It cetainly seems that she has found one now. Cannondale does have the well deserved reputation of having excellent coaching.

Is Phil Dixon the coach or do they have someone else?

With respect to Blevins and Courtney, both have in the past, in spots, shown the ability to compete with the best in the world. Nice spring opener in N.W. Arkansas, but it's kind of like a pre-season game. Let's see if he's ready for the real competition down in Brazil and in Europe. The expectation for USA pros should be to beat the best in the world. If both fall back into privateer races within America, that'll be disappointing.

Blevins was on another level today. I think even Riley Amos knew it, coming off the start loop he just pulled over and signalled for Blevs to pass. He made it look easy, clowning around over the gap jump with big whips and seated pedaling while in the air. He was running consistent laps, from 11:25 to 11:38 until the final lap, when he threw down an 11:11 while under no pressure.

Earlier in the week Blevins set a 30 second power record during the race. Unfortunately he hides his power data on Strava but setting PB numbers in March along with smoking the field is hopefully a sign of good things to come in the Brazil races.

Jolanda is a beast in muddy conditions and has made the best of it in her past few races.

Jolanda not happy at Trek? Of course she was not, but from my understanding and little knowledge of it, it was a two way street. Even at the North America World Cups she did not travel nor stayed with the team. Go back to last season of Red Bull Race tapes and you can see the clash starting. Who's to blame? Don't know and don't care. Everyone is happy...for now.

Speaking of Race Tapes, has anyone watched the new season?

i bet CB will have some fond memories going back to brasil for the openers. he was absolutely flying down there last year.

When Blevins is on point, he's got all the talent in the world to be the best, but his XCO season fizzled after a scintillating Brazil race. Amos seems like a fine young rider but I don't think he has the same potential. He was impressive at the Olympics but I don't see those guys as comparable.

Blevins is an amazing rider to watch. The guy skips and floats over every single bump generating speed without even pedalling. One of the smoothest riders I have ever seen.
That was the coolest thing to see, there was a climbing rock feature before the descent into the "gap" jump. It looked like he was just carrying enough speed into it he just bunny hopped up instead of pedaling over like every other rider throughput the weekend. My son raced the same course and said it never occurred to him it was even possible. Sooo smooth.

Reminded me a bit of the rock garden in the lake placid XCC where in the last lap Koretzky seemingly came out of it faster than he went in and opened like a 5 bike length gap

8x BMX US National Champion before the age of 16. That's a solid foundation for knowing how to get that little extra out of your bike and body.
