Well I just bought another GT.
Got the Labomba Pro a few weeks ago and now the Fury Carbon.

I ride park maybe 3-4 times a year, at this price it's way worth it vs me destroying my enduro.

Dang, thats not a bad deal.

$1300 for a high pivot carbon frame DH bike, with a shock? And it uses normal boost spacing too, which makes it easier to swap that enduro wheelset over.

The geo doesn't look bad either.
I got the Elite Build. Frame was $1300, but for $2450 the bike is rideable without doing anything else.
The tires are like $100 each, the wheels may be cheap, but $300 for a pair or at least I cant source any for less. The fork is worth at least $8-900.
The brakes, sure nothing fancy, but they are guaranteed to lock the wheels up. The X-Fusion shock from what I've read got good reviews. I'm excited.

What size should I get? I am 6' 2" - on the cusp of size L and XL. I like the 485 reach on my Spesh Enduro. I dont like the monster long front center and wheel base on the XL. But dont want to feel cramped or over the bars on the L. BUt I have limited experience on a DH bike.

Help me

Im 6’1” barefoot, and if it matters, I’d be looking at the XL.

And I ride a size large Kavenz VHp with 480 mm of reach normally. But for bike park I’d enjoy a bit more reach and stack. Also the ear center will grow some under sag, with the high pivot.

The real deals are on the dirt jumpers, pretty much impulse buy territory.

I don't know about the Fury Elite. My problem is the parts are so bad, chinese crankset, 10 year old drivetrain (how/where did they get X7 parts?), Rush damper fork (?), I dont know how good or bad the XFusion shock is. Going to take a lot of money to get that running better than my enduro bike. If you have nothing good for the park already then it could be good but if you have a good enduro bike with high end suspension then I don't think it will be better without upgrades.

Warranty is probably not going to be a thing since it's looking like GT is going out of business unfortunately. I was really hoping for the Pro to go on sale because the parts are top tier, if the frame broke then at least you'd have the value of the parts.

Im thinking the same. But you like looong chain stays lol. You are making me think L for the wheel base haha

My friends XL Commencal has the same 510 reach as this Fury, and similar wheel base, but it didnt feel like the reach was too long at all. I did not like the turning the huge wheel base on the Commencal in tighter tech, but this bike is a lot shoter with the CS flip chip.

Also, their manual does not specify bearings, only GT part numbers. That is annoying. And are the idler/idler parts proprietary? Hard to find a lot of info on this bike.

Im looking at the frame only option personally. The complete build is a killer deal but I know what I want and would replace a bunch of stuff. I am a horder and have a lot of stuff to throw on, the fork would be my biggest cost. Fox Factory gold is on sale for 1500 :)

I’m 5’11” and got the large my enduro bike has 472 mm reach and a 40mm stem. This is 480 and a 50mm stem. I may put a shorter stem on it to bring it a little closer, we will see.

Find me a non Chinese crankset that comes stock on an MTB. Anything made in house is going to be aftermarket.
The X7 isn't an issue, it shift through gears.
Rush Damper fork on Rockshox newest Boxxer Select, this is the 38mm base model stanchion fork that can only be sourced by buying it on an OEM bike.
The X-Fusion shock is rated well if you read review, @Dougal even did a review on it, and with this being the newest iteration it would come as highly rated.
I have an Arrival 170 with Mezzer Pro and EXT rear, and it still cannot compete on the inspiration and confidence that a true DH framed bike gives you.
GT warranty is also going to be handled by PON through Cannondale.

Any other questions, there's nothing inherently wrong with any of the parts on this build. It's $2450 shipped to your house. No Tax No Freight. You can't touch this deal.
Tired of the Rush Damper, contact Avalanche. The HS3 rear is as good as any other coil that also doesn't offer HBO.
The cranks are cranks and spending more on them won't make you any faster.
If the X7 shifts perfect and is set up correctly then run it, you'll smash it on a rock soon enough if your parks are anything like my closest park. Trials Training Center and Windrock.

Cheers everyone.

Thomas Genon rode a medium size at hardline and he is 6'

I really cant decide on a the L or XL. I do not want a complete monster truck, or to feel over the bars. Dilema

Also, is the idler gear proprietary? If I pick this up I may buy a some pares and stuff now. But I would keep this bike for a loooong time so I want to know if I will be able to get certain parts like hangers and the idler gear.

GT might not totally go away. May just be a pause, and may be sold.

Yes, but Danny Hart was 5'10" i think and rode a L for world cups.
Just get what you think you'll like. Can't go wrong either way.
