Transition is releasing a Bosch SX powered Sentinel e-bike shortly.
I highly suspect that they will be moving over to Bosch or something else in the future. The rep I talked to last summer didn’t exactly say anything, but subtly expressed a little frustration with Fazua.

Hopefully Bosch will revise the SX with some of the Gen5 features. The SX I rode a couple of different times rattled worse than the Gen4 and had a really bad whine. New bike so maybe the whine would tone-down over time but the rattle is annoying. Also, I felt it does not have the low-end grunt of the Fazua

You guys must really like the bike itself to put up with the motor issues and battery latch issue, seems like removing the battery just to charge it would be a PITA too especially if you have to restrap it down every time. Transition really should get the latch sorted for current owners, and have on the bike charge port on the next gen.
I do love the Relay. The latch is not well designed, but now I just use a velcro strap that takes 30 seconds to put on/take off. I don't mind taking out the battery and charging it, and thankfully the Fazua has worked well and I have a great LBS if something goes wrong. I have the PNW and it handles chunky and technical trails so well, but is still fun on less challenging rides. We're probably early enough in the game that every current ebike will be outdated in a few years, but I'm having a blast right now.

Have to say that my Relay is just really dialed in well now.
Bit shorter cranks, finally have the spring rates on my Avy suspension very close, a -5mm reach adjust, etc. That bike just feels so balanced these days.
I'd like a 480ish battery and access to the 450 watts boost mode full time and it would be really close to an ideal bike.
I will add, and it's probably in my head because I've convinced myself that I have to have a high pivot bike (or a Sidekick hub), but it feels like the fork is much more free moving than the shock. Like the rear end 'hangs up' a fair bit.

PSA: If you havent checked your Main Pivot Axle bearings ( Its the one that sits under your seat- behind the Trunion Bolts) - You should check yours

The Non-Drive side one on mine had seized and it appears as if there was no grease ever put in this bearing.

How do you know that, you ask? the drive side one was in perfect shape, I dont pressure wash my bike or use any cleaners on it and the bearing seal was virgin

Since I didnt have a puller or press, I decided to break it free with PB blaster, spin it with a dowel and drill to round any flat bearings, clean it with IPA and stuff it full of marine grease

Went for a shake down ride and OMG. the bike feels more plush and the "knock" on hard compressions is gone

Today I got my first ride on motor #3. I don't know if Fazua has changed anything or if they just sent another of the same motor but this one seemed markedly quieter than motors #1 and #2. Time will tell if this one gets noisy just like its predecessors but if you notice motor rattle on yours and it's still under warranty I'd say take the time to get it changed out.

I really want to like the relay because they have xxl and good geo, but you’re not the only one I’ve heard of having many replacement motors

I wonder what people do with their bike - i ride mine quite a bit, it crashes sometimes, it bottom out sometimes. how do you guys ride? (the motor breakers :) Ideally id like mine to break before the warranty runs out lol. But it seem to work great unfortunately!
It's not how they ride that breaks motors. It's a combo of wetness, rider weight, high rolling resistance, washing/ power washing, longer sustained climbs.

Have 2 or 3 of those conditions and you are more likely to experience failures.

You can have any of these motors rebuilt for about the cost of a shock rebuild. The incredibly low resale value of ebikes is unwarranted. The electric motor is just an easily repaired component that wears, like a cassette. Really not a big deal.

I have all of those things! 😆

That’s good to hear. Where does one get the motor rebuilt? I don’t think my LBS guys have any experience doing that. Do you send it to Fazua?

Isn't that funny that we think it "Unfortunate" that our bike works great. I feel the same things, almost a rush to hurry and get a bunch of miles on it just so that it breaks before the warranty is up, just in case. Mine runs great too. I have the Fazua Ride 60 on my Ari Nebo Peak and I love it, but due to hard winter weather, I will have to take trips South to ride it in the next couple of months. I think of that time as "lost warranty". LOL:rolleyes: :ROFLMAO:

thats why im asking though, i dont submerge or powerwash my bike. off the trail its well taken care of. im avg weight (180), i dont baby the motor power wise. ive been to bike park a lot, etc. too.

it also all depend on the failure condition: is it bearings, a gear, a axle, etc.
