Or you can ask directly?

I imagine the winter oil at 40c will be very thin. Then again I don't think riders have issues at higher temps a rule?
I expected from someone who is quite fanatical about data and graphs, when he releases a new product he would back it up with this basic information as part of the description, instead of only writing it’s X times better than products X,Y,Z.

Yup, it may well be a fantastic product but without basic product info all these claims could be bogus. I’ve seen far too many product launches singlehandedly crushed here on mtbr by the man himself for much less.

As @SilentMTB said above, I’m happy with my cheap Motorex oils and for my current riding temps don’t have the need to buy 250ml of oil across the globe but I understand that those living in extreme cold climates do.

It's me who said that…

I'm happy with the oils I use which work fine at around 5°c, however, I'm always interested in new products that can improve performance, but the vague description plus the high price for a 250ml bottle isn't that appealing. 🤷‍♂️

Absolutely agree. Btw, I fixed my comment above, credit where it’s due.

Lol trying to stir sh!t and make him come back. You must really miss him!

SilentMTB, have you contacted Douglal with specific questions and the detailed info you’d like made public?
As I said above, I was wondering about this information because I'm always interested in new products that can improve performance, but not enough to bother contacting him about it.

From a quick search on Motorex website, the SSS20 seems like it’s a blend between the ECOSYNT HEES 22 and 15. Color, manufacturer and viscosity matches:

Sure it may have additional additives, but base oil seems like it’s this one.
Good sleuthing. It’s possible that the great man D doesn’t want anyone to copy his ‘recipe’, which would be possible if he published all specs. A bit like the recipe for CocaCola, the barrier to entry is low once the full list of ingredients is known.

To be fair, personally, I never really asked for such a thing. Just basic viscosity at 40deg C and VI, that’s about it.

If what I posted is true, he covered his back too, because no-one is going to buy a 200-liter drum just to try on their next service! The same can’t be said about Supergliss or Fork Oil!
