Web searches mainly discuss the kickstarter project, which were different shoes than what they eventually released. Or, you'll find instances where people incorrectly typed anamoly when they meant anomaly.
I'm assuming their Hero rubber isn't as sticky as Five Ten's S1 or they would be really pushing that angle. (And that's likely a dealbreaker for me.) I was only interested because they are supposedly wide.
I can't see how they will stay in business since no one is talking about them (hell, even some bad press might be better than nothing).
Also, I think it's stupid that they brag about no stitching on the uppers; I trust stitches a lot more than glue. And they are goofy looking, but that's not a big deal for mtb shoes (for me).

Anyone?

I've been watching these for a while because of the supposed toebox volume. I can't wear Five Ten or Ride Concepts because of then way the toeboxes taper in. If Altra would make some flat mtb sneakers, those would work. I'll know right away if Anamoly got it right when I finally get my feet into some.

No but considering specialized is still blowing out 2f0 models for 50 bucks there's little reason to look at anything else. I dont' know how many they ordered up by man did they miss the market. They've been selling shoes for 50 since early spring. Seems like they would have sold out by now?

I'd wager my feet are wider than yours and my 5.10 freeride from 2015 have plenty of room with very little taper. Theres also recent models that look like they have wide toeboxes.

@JustRon
With a design like that these things will go the way of the dodo.
Its objectively horrible.

I’m a size 7.5EEE with a high instep (ugh) and I have 5 different styles of Five Tens… none of them fit.
Anyone who says they have wide feet and Five Tens fit, doesn’t have wide feet.

I tried on several pairs in the store, including some that are definitely a full size too large in length for me. the toeboxes squish my toes together in a crippling way. The same goes for Shimano shoes. I bought an older pair of Freeriders that are a bit long for me. that I wore for a while, but they always hurt my feet after a while. now that I have shoes with ample toe room, I can see why.

I have yet to try Specialized shoes. at the moment, Endura Humvee sneakers are wide enough for me. It looks like older Five Tens we a bit more roomy and I'd love to see them make more foot-shaped shoes.

I don't care what they look like if they fit my feet.

Or you simply misunderstood. Feet have different shapes and mack was saying that the toebox is too tapered, which is not true for many of their models. If you are looking for something with plenty of room in the toebox then 5.10 has models like that. If your foot is shaped like a potatoe then they might be too narrow for you in the middle.
The shape of the soles of 5.10 look very similar to the shoes you posted with maybe a wider midsection. Toebox isn't exactly wide judging from the pictures.
With that being said, why would anyone buy them if they do not offer anything special compared to other available option while also not looking very appealing.

I wear them so loose I can slip in and out with some effort without untying the laces. The boots are so stiff anyways that they never come off even on dh rides. Probably does not fit square feet. But neither does Altra.

I don't have overly wide feet, but I definitely feel like I am a duck, because nothing fits me comfortably (I think the universe forgot what the shape of a foot was about 100 years ago or so), and 5.10 Freerider Pro is a shoe they could torture me with - I don't understand how that **** fits anyone with anything else than slim woman feet.
The regular canvas Freerider model is ok, but the sole is so thin my feet are sore after an hour or two of pedaling. It's wide enough but it's way too unsupportive even for me (I hate stiff shoes).

I was looking at this Anomaly or Anamoly or whatever thing, and figured it was either fake or it never happened, because there is not even one review anywhere. I don't mind if shoes are butt ugly, but it looks like a piece of plastic that wouldn't give even if you smashed it with a hammer, and I know what would happen to my toes in something like that.
Bottom line is, Specialized's Roost shoes seem to fit me nicely enough. I only tried walking in them in a store, but that felt promising enough.

i'd consider myself a person with a slightly wider than average foot and due to your comments reluctantly lift my little hand... the shame of admitting that the 5.10 freerider pro fits my foot perfectly lol.
I do agree though, they seemingly are a rare shoe where i ride and i'd guess its for the reasons you expressed. I also have a pair of the older 5.10 freeriders and while I bought them a hair small they have more room than the new ones.
I assure you, i do have man feet.

Imagine telling someone that their personal experience of fitting shoes is wrong.
Its not about being wrong or right. More like about being accurate.
When someone says "wide" or "narrow" do they mean the toebox? The midfoot section?
General statements for shoe fit are rarely helpful as feet come in very different shapes.
Which models?
Take pictures from the freerider soles and compared them to the shoes you posted. Do you honestly see a sizeable difference in the shape?

Look at where a brannock device measures width… that’s the standard that pretty much everyone in the world uses (except you).

I’m not sure why you think I am convinced these shoes are wider than Five Tens. I was asking you which Five Ten models you think are wide because I own 5 different styles and they are all too narrow for me. I’m not taking pics of the soles of my shoes.

And, as I said in the OP, these shoes look pretty bad. I’m not advocating for them in any way; I simply asked if any has tried them. It appears the answer is “no”.

FWIW, I saw that Specialized 2FO sneakers were on sale, so I bought some. I used the Specialized foot measuring guide and picked a size 10/ 43 and ordered two pair from Evo. I thought that sounded like they might be a bit small, as I can fit 10-10.5, depending on the brand. Within five seconds of putting both on, I could tell they were at least a half-size too small lengthwise, and didn't have any lateral space for my toes. back in the box they went, and I had to forfeit $8 in return shipping, which is fine.

I then ordered another two pair of 10.5/44, which is usually what I wear in other sneakers. I put them on and they seemed to have just enough lateral room for my foot, but the toebox was still a bit crunched. I wondered if I could deal with that, but when I stood up in them, I realized that the mid-foot was way too narrow for me to tolerate. the metatarsal of my small toe was curling up to fit the profile of the footbed. hard no. Evo was kind enough to waive shipping this time, so good on them.

I'm sticking with my Endura Hummvees in the meantime, which have plenty of life left in them. I might give Anamoly a go next time, unless someone else comes up with a shoe for my duck feet.

Funny, I just bought some 2FO DH shoes in "my size" (I always size up for the width)... they are a little long, and just barely wide enough. I tried them yesterday and they were pretty good... no pain (all of my Five Tens hurt after a while) and the grip was really good. They gripped better than all of my Five Tens, which was a nice surprise. The downside is they aren't very comfortable- the left and right shoes look almost identical, which is strange. And they are stiff as hell (some folks like that). I wore them at a lift-access park, so it wasn't bad, but I might try their Roost for trail riding.
