Ok I bought a new bike a few days ago, was fully charged (all lights were lit) and I rode till It was down to 1 bar. I plugged charger In port on bike and I have no lights on bike confirming it is charging, it did charge but I needed to turn bike on to see how many lights were lit?, on my other bikes the display lights up and shows charging, anyone else have this?

on my giant reign which has yamaha pwx3 motor I only have the green light on charger go solid when done charging. No lights on bike will come on while charging, I have to turn bike on before it will show me how many bars I have after unplugging charger. App tells me exactly what percentage is charged.

Can this battery be charged while not on the bike? We like to take batteries into hotel rooms and charge them for the next day. Also, do any of you know how long the valve stem needs to be for this rim? I want to get going with tubeless when the bike gets here next week. Lastly, I sure wish that I could have some way to link my phone to the battery to see the percentage of battery while riding!

Yes, you can charge the battery on or off the bike. The battery to bike connection is the same as the bike to charger connection so the same charger charges the battery on or off the bike. the battery removal process is 2 fiddly little torx screws with non captive bushings put through from the inside on the tabbed battery cover, and then a slick and quick and easy 1 retained bolt arrangement for holding the actual battery in place.

I have mine connected with garmin so the battery percentage and human power output show on my display while riding, but there is also a yamaha app that will tell you the precise percent charge on your phone. Both a bit awkward to setup (the first time, you have to do a button dance to put the bike in a mode where it will connect, which it remembers forever).

Also, I somehow got my bike and Fenix 7 to coordinate but I can't remember what I did. Somehow my husband's watch was also reading my bike battery and not his so I need to get his coordinated. I also don't see in my watch my pedal power? If you have any guides I would appreciate

I don't have a Garmin watch, but on the Garmin edge you'd go into sensors on his watch and forget the e-bike sensor. Then on yours you'd go into sensors and add new sensor. With the bike turned on and comms set to on as above (a one time change) you'd search for new sensors, view all, select all, and add. This will open up display of remaining battery, and probably on the Fenix cadence, power, gear shifting recommendations.

Could you please tell me how to get the Yamaha app for Android?

Thank you! I did and I'm super happy for this! I am convinced there is something that needs to be fixed or setup with my husband's new bike computer. I have gone through the original setup manual for the original bike setup and did the original computer setup again and spun the wheel 3x....yet neither his Fenix 7x or my 7s find his computer and this app doesn't either yet all will see my bike. I'll contact Yamaha on Monday by phone and I bet they will know something.

Mine doesn't work properly. It cuts out every few seconds. Maybe his is worse?

Ugh! Well, mine worked so nicely on our 71 mile ride...his watch was also reading my bike info and we didn't realize until too late. We had the YDX Torc for a year and sure do wish these bikes had the visible battery info

Hi! I contacted Yamaha yesterday and they told me to take the bike in for a tech to look at it. We discussed all of the things I tried, thanks to the owner's manual and the original setup manual that the tech uses to set the bike up. The person at Yamaha said I likely needed to get a new module....the device on the handlebar with the lights so I am looking into this now. As far as my bike and my Garmin watch and Garmin Connect App I think this is awesome! I know have a way to see my power stats as well as the battery percentage and if I change the level of assist it will tell me my miles left based on that level of assist. Since I have heart issues and am a retired PT I love to see this information.

Since I have two bikes with this problem now, please update us on how it goes. I may have to make the crazy drive to a dealer but I don't want to have to do it more than one trip...
