Here's a pic of the clearance on the non drive side, the other side it is more

Pretty tight but more room that I expected. I have that same tire that I thought about trying out but Revel says 2.4 max. I was curious since most Maxxis tires don't typically measure full width. I am running a 2.4 Forekaster V2 in the rear now that seems to work well for how I ride so I may stick with it.

Yes, I did. After loosening and re-torqueing all the pivot bolts, the knocking sound is gone. It was most likely pivot 3 or 5 on the right side, as one of them seemed loose.
Yes. pretty common. My Rail 29 starting knocking under hard compression after a few weeks. the two main axle bolts down by the BB were a bit loose.
Regrease, blue locktite, torque to spec. Bike is now silent.

Rail maiden voyage today. 2500 ft descending, 2000 ft climbing. Felt at home immediately like I had ridden it for a year. It felt very neutral and agile, carried speed well. Their geometry always seemed a little strange to me but honestly think this clearly illustrated why numbers don't tell the whole story. The seat angle for my 80 cm saddle height feels completely good, didn't need to slam the seat forward. And having had a lot of bikes with 63 and 64 degree head angles, the head angle on this felt plenty slack while still being able to turn tight corners easily. Despite riding a very rocky descent, my x2 didn't get near bottoming out (has a few volume spacers). When climbing no unwanted movement. Reach is shorter on paper but didn't feel that way when standing, descending. Also chainstays while short on paper, felt much more balanced than I expected. Overall the bike feels like a winner. I'm going to say there won't be any more super slack super long bikes in my future...unless I move within an hour of a DH park ;)

Took the Rail to the bike park today. I have to say this bike has been a big surprise. I wasn't expecting it to be such a speed machine. I really misjudged the brand, in part because so much of the media about the CBF has been around climbing manners. But it really has been fantastic downhill. The way it carries speed is a lot of fun. It is like having the benefit of a more nimble/precise bike but still having high speed stability. I could see this being a good one bike solution (if I can ever convince myself to own only one bike ). The bike is completely silent to boot. (y)(y)

I use this “ATack Clear Double-Sided Mounting Tape” for my car spoiler. It has not peel off in 3 years. When that happen to my Rascal I will use it. You can find it in Amazon.

After a dozen or so rides, the downtube guard peeled like this.
Not that it's a technical fix but can anyone recommend a specific kind of glue? I don't want to use the wrong stuff.
Thanks for help.

I ended up using a couple washers to hold mine in place. Zero problems with it since, and since it is on the bottom of the down tube I never see it.

Anyone know any good tricks for keeping a BB mounted bash in place? I've tried retaining compound. Next maybe a little JB weld? Cranking down the BB just isn't working.
They are problematic by nature. unfortunately.
Consider an ISCG guard like the one from MRP. There are some cheap ones on Amazon as well.

Or if you have Transmission, the SRAM chainring integrated bash guard is pretty slick

I am very anti wrap... But I would go clear because the metallic flake in the upper half is really a thing of beauty. I wouldn't want to obscure it with matte wrap. I have a lead king as well and really love the unique color.
Agreed, clear. I use generic clear frame tape on a few high wear areas like the downtube above the integrated guard, but otherwise keep my bike naked.
I bought my roll years ago and it's provided enough coverage for several bikes. cut to size
