Was the Maxxis logo yellow or white before you blacked out?
looks clean from the photo....but does it look that good standing beside it?

like the Krampus (y)(y)
It was yellow. You can see at bottom of tire where it was freshly applied but after riding a bunch it's blended I'll grab a shot tomorrow if you want.

Tire was a bit low on DH run the other day so got some cross-hatch from squirming. At the ~7 o'clock onm tire is where the gel is can see just a bit of yellow in cross-hatch, may touch up but not real noticeable in person. 100-200 miles

Other side gel at about 6 o'clock, dirt definitely does not stick to it as much as the rubber

You just moved to #1 on my speed dial list for DH'ing a Krampus
particular brand of black out you would suggest?

Anyone tried out the Stooge Tracker 85mm Rise Bar yet?
I threw in a Tracker 85 bar when I purchased a spare derailleur hanger last week. It arrived yesterday and while I've barely ridden it, it feels really neutral and comfortable. I really like the backsweep of 23° compared to ~14-15° bars I've been riding (Carver Early Riser or Surly Sunrise), or the 45° Oddity I have.

It's also quite heavy. Mine weighed 848 grams with the included shims. In comparison, my Surly Sunrise with shims was only 783 grams. A bar with similar geometry is the Crust Harvey Mushman and it only weighs 345 grams according to Crust. The Tracker is chonky.

Thanks for the feedback. I got my hands on a Tracker Bar as well. I put it on my ATB-esque Stooge Dirt Tracker. For light MTB and gravel use it's been great. I "think" it's more compliant than the Junker Bar it replaced. I say "think" because it's not a huge difference.

It's definitely a chonky bar, but so was the Junker Bar it replaced. Once mounted I don't notice the weight at all. The Tracker Bar is supposed to be a few degrees more backswept than the Junker Bar. I can't really feel the difference, but both feel good to me on long rides.

I'm going to keep riding the Tracker Bar on this bike and the Junker Bar on my Stooge Speedbomb as well as my Surly Krampus. So far not sure there is a clear winner between them.

I finished up the Rambler build yesterday and took her for two spins. Once again, Andy designs some great bikes. It's fast and lively, but comfortable enough that I can see spending some long rides on it. The 2.6" Mezcals roll astonishingly well on pavement too. I think this bike is going to have a place in my stable for a long time.
