Okay, at least I’m not making up things in my head. That sucks honestly, I can’t fit my Mara Pro and the bike didn’t feel that great in the driveway. Not off to a great start…
After a few rides you’ll forget about it and enjoy it much more.

IMHO every modern geo mountain bike feels weird riding on pavement. Get it out on the trail, and pointed downhill. The HT3 is an awesome bike. Yeah, it is longer than your HT2.

I have only ridden mine once, but I didn’t have any trouble on switchbacks. It maneuvered better than I expected. I have mine set in the high position. I’m between sizes and I got a medium, but usually ride large, so that might have something to do with it as well.

Bronson refresh looks absolutely dialed. I can’t wait to see the new HT. As a Nomad owner the Bronson is exactly what I want in a shorter travel Nomad
And what would be the advantage? Isn't the new Bronson about as long and as heavy as the current Nomad? Why have less travel unless it weighs less or pedals better?

Then I’m left with no bike.
-For me, all of the new geo bikes have taken a decent adjustment period to get comfortable/confident on.
Double check your Saddle position (yes, knee-over-spindle at 3/9 o'clock is still a thing) and be ready to maybe buy a new Stem (likely shorter).

How tall are you? SC would have me on a large, but at least in test rides around the parking lot, the medium feels better to me. I'm 5'10". I'm trying to decide if I should take advantage of the sweet deals on the HT3 or hold out for the HT 4.

So on the CC they skip the internal cable routings for the shifters, huh? And the brake hoe’s routing is still going through the frame… what a nonsense. Design clearly goes over function for those jokers.

They even communicate it shaves off 100g for the shifting cable… and the non-weightweenies still get screwed when they have any mechanical with the brake.

Too many words for I have no words.

This is the trend. The Stumpy 15 carbon frame has no internal routing for a derailleur. Probably a little cheaper to make the frame with one less internal channel. Also assuming we will see a Shimano wireless drivetrain soonish?

I’m around 5’8.5 - 5’9 with a long torso. I rode a large and medium around the parking lot. I think either would have worked, but I think the medium is a little better for me.

I should probably try to demo, but I can only find a medium to demo, and it's about 120 miles from here, and $100 for 4 hours. The large felt huge in the parking lot and a tiny bit of dirt, but maybe feels different in the wild. Tough decisions.

Yes, what ehayes says…I’d definitely get some rides in on it, my sense is you’ll enjoy it. I mean I came from a 5010 V2 and love my HT3, so that sense of it being a bigger bike is definitely a bajillion (+/-) times more than yours lol. Not to diminish your experience! Just saying it is one heck of a ride and you’ll probably discover some positives, mostly from the rear suspension performance I’d think.

I would have spent $100 to demo one head that been an option. It’s a lot cheaper than buying the wrong size and losing money when you try to sell it. I would think medium would be good if the large felt big.

I did some parking lot/stairs test rides of the HT3 and v4 Bronson today. Was really surprised at how much softer and less responsive the Bronson was for being close bikes on paper. It just did not want to respond to hard pedal input. Even slacker and less antisquat would definitely be the wrong direction for me.

HT3 felt real nice though. Super tight feeling compared to my v1 Rascal.

might not be such a bad idea if you were willing to take the risk waiting for a v4
The thing is, I don’t like where things are headed with new bikes (more travel, longer, slacker) now with the addition of no internal cable routing for the shifter to force you to buy wireless sram. I’ll give it some time to see if I can adjust and test it on real trails.
