Just occurred to me, someone earlier said the HT would be mx compatible but also that a Bronson is coming out... why in the world would you have a Bronson and a MX compatible Hightower... unless it's the same bike. But then, which name are they going with?

Oh, you should go read the latest rumor over on Vital....

Haha.

No it was something about SC is going to leaning heavily into ebikes going forward, and th4 next Mega would have a motor.

Can't find it easily on my phone right now, sorry.

Brontower. ~150mm rear travel, coil compatible, MX compatible, and reasonable weight would put it at the top of my personal list. New Stumpy and Ripmo both have some drawbacks that I'm not crazy about.

I completely agree. This is the bike I want. +1 for Brontower. A smidge less travel Nomad with a 64 HTA & ~440 chainstay in size L. Running a 160 lyrik and a 150 shock of choice. MX or 29 flip chip.

they really need to improve their glovebox implementation, that huge downtube has to be contributing to how heavy the bikes are... whatever they do I really hope they don't make a longer bike, I vastly prefer the sizing geo of the V2 vs the V3 which to me is a bit longer

I was at the SC factory Saturday, and was told, albeit by a kid at the front desk on a Saturday afternoon, that there was no plan to get rid of the HT or somehow merge it with the Bronson. He claimed that the HT was their best selling frame, and that the reduced prices were to make it competitive with other brands that were slashing prices.

I went to Another Bike Shop down the street, and was told that the HT4 would be out in the next month or two, and he claimed it would just be slightly more aggressive than the HT3.

Neither was a company spokesperson, so take this as more gossip I suppose.

Regarding frame weight, every FS frame above the blur is a bit over 6lbs, from the Tallboy through the MT. It feels like they are all built for Clyde’s.
