Hey everybody,
This past few months i've kind of been upgrading parts based on their performance and am at the last of the meh parts, the RockShox 150 RL Gold. The shock handles light riding very well but at my local trail it shows its weaknesses.
I have a buddy that has a take-off RockShox Lyrik from 2021 that he's been sitting on and has priced very fair.
My question, is a 2021 Lyrik going to result in a meaningful upgrade?

Yes, but how much depends on which RockShox RL Gold you have. If it is a Recon RL Gold, it should be a significant upgrade. If it is a 35 RL Gold, it will be better but not as dramatic as the difference between a Recon and a LyriK Select.
yup its the 35 RL Gold. I'd of totally been content with after the first few XC style rides but once i got into the Trail/Enduro stuff despite being new and set up well, it blew through the travel and really suffered on chattery stuff.
He has it at $450 USD and might even work a deal on a trade in for the Gold RL.

I would say yes it will be better, Stiffer design. Better suspension cartridge. Lyric is an good fork. When you hit stuff hard with repeted hits the lower models kind of stiffens upp. They dont handle the repeteded hits, and dont recover fast enought

Just to update my own question, I pulled the trigger on it and got my first ride in.
Despite it being only really set up for rider weight and down the middle for compression and rebound it is a substantial improvement.
Thanks to those that replied and assisted in giving the little push i needed to give it a go.
