This all sounds like sad news and I hope that all ends up well for Kona and it's employees.
I've got 2 decades of good memories riding my kona's.
My 2010 Kona Unit is my all time favorite bike (even though I have 2 more recent unit's).
We have 3 Unit's, 2 rove ST's, a Dr Dew and a Sutra Ltd in the house hold. All fun bikes to ride.

Ordered a second derailleur hanger for the Hei Hei CR/DL and a few bolts that I'd like to have as spares. It doesn't really matter too much--by the time I unload that frame it will be well-used anyway.
I was thinking about doing the same, but I was concerned that there's no one processing and shipping orders. Let us know when/if you receive your order.

This is crazy news. I just bought what was probably the last 2023 Kona Unit in stock in Europe from a Kona dealer.

Good or bad timing?

Unfortunately the bike has some issues that need warranty service, but otherwise it rides like a dream. It's basically the grown-up version of my childhood BMX bike designed to be able to ride around the world.

Researching options before purchasing, I became quite endeared with the overall brand ethos and market positioning of the Unit, which ticks an awful lot of boxes for its price point. Really hope they can find a way keep it going.

Sounds like the best possible outcome!

it does seem to me like they need to slim their range down , the have 79!!! bikes in the full 2024 range

Exactly what I was hoping for! Can’t wait to see what they offer next.

and there are new 2024 models on japan website 134/153 G3 🙌

Prices look good on the USA website!
1500$ Process134
1900$ Process 153
2300$ Honzo ESD
1700$ Honzo DL
1000$ Big Honzo
1000$ Unit
3700$ Remote 130 and Remote 160(a bit outdated but eMTB is essential for bike company health)
1300$ Wo
1700$ Woo(Fatbikes not quite so important at this time, but if there’s a big snow year…)

This is really sad... wish i read this before buying my dream bike, a Process 153... i will ride it with pride still, and ride it for a long time. it is just really sad that Kona may be no more...

though, their website shows new Process 153 coming soon, so maybe not dead yet, or they sold off.
I still love my new bike, and will ride the tires off it, and then some. I have to... it cost more than my car... :ROFLMAO:

They aren’t going anywhere. I was looking at buying a leftover Process 134 and emailed them to see if they would still support it with warranty, parts, etc. they said they are still stocking parts for all the Processes.

A bike shop I talked to also said that Kona recently contacted them with a plan for their next few years.

Good to see them put something "new" out there. The price points seem very reasonable for a Kona.

Those super short seat tubes and chainstays seem like they might be problematic for riders with longer legs. It'd work fine for us though.
