Anyone have suggestions for a front tire thats a little more confidence inspiring than a Aspen? I love them out back but keep having random front end washouts that are killing my downhill confidence (totally willing to accept this is a skill issue also).
Booster Pro if you're looking for lightweight with some decent grip and fast rolling.

If it concerns an Aspen 2.4, then yes it concerns a skill issue ;)

When it concerns an Aspen 2.25, then yes, a more aggressive front tire could makes sense. Naturally I would say the Forekaster 2.35, but that one has become obsolete as we know and the 2.4 is simply to heavy and under sized. And otherwise, for XC, I don't see other aggressive front tires with Maxxis that are sub 800 gram and still serve XC riding. That is also why I moved to Schwalbe as an alternative. But Vittoria is a nice alternative too. Maxxis really has a gap in their portfolio here with lacking a more aggressive front tire like for XC (I mean sub 800 gram), like Schwalbe has with the Racing Ray, Rocket Ron and even a 2.25 Wicked Will or a 2.35 Barzo.

With that price i dont want them :D They were available on bikeinn for 50euros :D
Rush TR feels so much more supple and faster aswell for me. Also we don't have any dry-hardpack gravel surface races coming anytime soon and as i had only -150km on them i managed to get them sold almost same price as i bought them.

If i ever try them again i would try the 2.4 version next, interestingly no 2.4 ST 170 available anywhere, were they really limited production?

I'm very curious how you'll like these. Please keep me posted.
Got first couple of races under my belt with the Python Race, only as a rear for now, with Wolfpack Speed 2.4 on front. First race we had a torrential downpour right at the start that changed the conditions massively from practice. Everyone was struggling with grip and these were no exception. Not really very helpful in evaluating them, although they did clear the mud fast :)

Second race was bone dry, mixture of hardpack, grass, man made rock features, a few roots. Lots of technical descending and fast grassy or hardpack corners. I was running at my usual dry weather 17F 18R, and honestly never gave the tyres a second thought, except to note that they felt pretty fast rolling. No issues with grip. Got my best result in the series this season, though that might be coincidental.

Planning to pop one on the front for the next race as forecast is good, will update after.

What's your weight?

78-ish kg
I'm curious how you'll like them front and rear.

I'm 82 kg and I'm not sure if the sidewalls will provide enough support at the very low pressures that I prefer.

With the Kenda Rush Pro TR 2.4 I needed 1.3 bar rear and 1 bar front. The SCT version was much better at 1.1 rear and 0.8 front.

My current tyres (Aspen ST 170 2.4) allow me to go as low as 0.7 front and 0.9 rear, without rim strikes and without getting wobbly.

I'm almost sure this won't be possible with the Hutchinsons.

I went 0.9 F 1.0 R for the muddy fest on Saturday - could have gone lower. No issues on the few fast sections, but it wasn't a good test.
