Why is Canyon MTB sizing different than everyone else? I'm 6' even with an approx 32" inseam. Everyone says I need a large...except Canyon, specifically the Spectral 125 that just went on sale.
I know people say that Canyons runs large, but i must be missing that in the numbers. Is it stack height?

I've also seen people suggest that the 200mm dropper is the reason. Ok...that is probably too long, but can't I just get a shorter dropper?

I'm also looking at a Polygon T7/8 and a Rocky Mountain Instinct on clearance at Jenson. Both recommend large for me.

I've always felt like my current bike is too small, and I don't want that again.

EDIT: I want to be clear here that I'm talking about bikes with similar NUMBERS, not just sizing (L,M, etc).

go with what canyon recommends on size chart

it is messed up 'cuz I ride medium or 16inch or 54cm...my whole life, not small or large

and ordering my Canyon it said I need an XS extra small. no way but I
ordered it and ...yeah it fits perfect.

Why? That's what I'm asking.

Let's pretend sizing in letters doesn't exist...no L or M. The numbers on a large Canyon spectral 125 are pretty similar to other mfgs large bikes, yet they tell me I need a medium.

I don't know

I just looked at the intertubes and everyone was recommending
just go with what canyon calculator tells you and don't worry about it

so I did, and I got a bike that fits perfect.

maybe ask Canyon about their size calculations

Mrs Dougal is on the Canyon Torque. Canyon sizing said small, She went for medium and it's perfect. Small would have been silly. 5'4" with long legs.
I should add that at 5'10" it's too small for me. I would need the large.

I'm sure at 5'11 canyon would've recommended a medium, but I know what geo numbers work for me so I got a large. Fits perfectly. It doesn't feel like a big large in any way, whatever that means. Numbers are numbers. Nothing magical.
I should have ask this back then, but how tall are you and what inseam?
