So after a couple of years now I have had enough of the pedal strikes. I have the flip chip high and sag at 25%.
Who have changed their cranks?
Does going to 170mm really make much difference? It's not even a quarter inch. There are some good deals on 170mm cranks.
I can see a 165mm helping some but I can't seem to find any 165mm GX cranks anywhere, even used.
I don't want to change bottom brackets and I don't think any aftermarket cranks fit the Sram BB.

I switched to 170mm crank on my medium Izzo (came with 175mm cranks). I ride the bike in high mode and my pedal strikes are few and far between. However, I am used to ratcheting constantly from years of riding my fat bike in a very rocky area. My fat bike is the Rocky Mountain Suzy Q 90 RSL - great bike but insanely low BB at 70mm drop!

I kept the 175 for sustained climbing leverage. I did bump the fork travel up from 130 to 140 but it was not for pedal strike issues. I simply learned to time my crank position when passing through or over the rough. Everyone who rides on/through rocks should master the technique.

Passing through rocks is fine. Climbing them is a lot more challenging, especially when you have to keep cranking. 😅
