I sat on a Ergon SM Pro the other day, and it was pretty comfy. That being said the max effective weight is 220(this is not the absolute max per Ergon). I was curious if anyone had used it and had any trouble with the rails? I’m way over that and I’m sure there are other options. Although I don’t think I’ve seen any saddle for a MTB rated at 275.

Only Ergon saddles I've used, are the SMC. I was 275, when I got them, and now I'm about 245 and they've held up good. They're rated for 265 lbs. For the price, I'm very pleased with it.

I went with that one because of the SM Pro having a low weight limit.

The one you reference (the SM Pro, along with the SM Comp) is the lowest weight rating of the Ergon mountain bike saddles, at 220 lbs. But if you like Ergon, you have heavier options.

The Ergon SM E-Mountain Core Prime and the SMC Core are rated to 308 lbs.

The SM Sport is rated to 264 lbs (this one will be the closest to the SM Pro you tried out). I believe the SMC series and SM Enduro series are also rated to 264 lbs.

Yes, the SM Pro has a max load of 220 lbs. This is rider body weight with gear, ie: hydration pack). This is because the SM Pro uses hollow TiNox rails and all our MTB saddles have press-fitted rails to allow the shell to flex over the shell to aid in comfort.
