I ordered the fork and shock today. June delivery in the US.
Yeah, I even called Pivot to see if they would sell me the suspension bits as I just bought the frame - they only have kits for complete bikes at this time. June everywhere for aftermarket, it seems.

Along the lines of suspension talk... who has one of these bikes, and what is your rear shock pressure vs. body weight? I'm running more than I should for the sag specs (160 psi at 150 lbs weight) but still using all travel. Any input? I'm going to try 140 psi today just to see if I blow through the travel.

I don’t remember what I am running exactly but I think it’s pretty close to my weight which is 155. I definitely don’t have a problem with using all the travel and find the frame rather progressive.

The Flow reviewer of the Mach 4 SL wrote that he was running 140 psi at 149 lbs weight, so being around that weight I thought I'd try it and see. I know the DW Link is kinda sensitive to sag being set within the intended range to work as designed.

I find the 115mm setup to be a little progressive but not overly so. The 106mm setup is noticeably more progressive and taut feeling. I think for any average XC course I'll run it at 106mm, and training/rougher courses will be the 115mm.

Hmm been think of the Runt to make my Fox 34SC a bit more capable in rougher terrain. Does it make fork more supple off top? how much does it weigh?
it is roughly the weight of the standard to cap plus 2 tokens, IIRC. Minimal weight gain if any.

I won't ride a 34 SC without a Runt now that I've had one. 52 psi low pressure chamber, 90 psi high (recommended for my weight for the fork as stock is ~68 psi). Supple as heck off the top but better support than stock for general riding. Can achieve full travel with a big hit. It allows you to get supple and supportive travel at the same time rather than having to choose one or the other.

Flight attendant for my M4 arrives in a few days. Interesting to see how it plays with the DW link suspension in contrast to Epic 8 which has received so much press.
Really interested in how it tests out. After ~50 miles on the Epic 8 with FA I can say with high certainty that it is the fastest bike I have ever ridden but it is also very stiff and less enjoyable to ride. I haven’t come to a final conclusion yet as 50 miles isn’t nearly enough but right now I’d prefer the M4SL win out even if it were slightly slower.

Can I ask where you are getting the FA parts from?

No rainy here today.

Which bike do you think handles descents better? I'm going to demo the Epic 8 and M4SL in the next few weeks. Interested to hear both your thoughts once you have more miles on the bikes.
