Anyone have a ride comparison between the hd6 and tracer 279?
I do not have a comparison, as I was waiting for an HD6 and got a killer deal on a tracer 279 frameset last fall.

Not attempting to thread hijack, but happy to answer any questions about the Tracer 279 (it is fantastic BTW. It climbs way better than a 170/170 mullet bike should and has proven itself on bike park days at Snowmass, Keystone, Winter Park and Angel Fire - as well as rides in Golden, Grand Junction/Fruita, Moab, Tucson, Phoenix, etc.)

Feel sorry not to be able to give a full review on HD6 vs Ripmo V2. There are still some parts missing and i am not sure when they will arrive. As already said i was able to bring it down to 12.8kg and it already is a rocketships on the ups and down but thats not the purpose of this bike, therefor some further optimisations for my needs are neccessary.

Little spoiler: Exie USA will be sold. Ripmo V2 and HD6 + Gravel is the Trio to go! ;)

I think it's finally built 🤔 waiting on the proper front wheel to arrive then pics. I ruptured my Achilles so the rush to get it finished became non-existent.
34lbs/15.5kg, same as the AF weighed in enduro form.
Conti DH, DVO Onyx, DVO Jade, Bontrager line carbon rims.

Will Ibis offer the HD6 as a full 29er?
I don't quite understand why Ibis has limited the HD6 to MX only without a full 29er option.
At this price point, I think that Ibis should have offered both configurations and let the buyers decide which one suits them better.

They didn’t offer the HD5 as a 29er, so I doubt they’ll do that here. I’m sure the Ripmo will be a full 29er.

Yeah, I’m also pretty sure that the Ripmo will be a full 29er because after the HD6 was released,
the Ripmo is no longer Ibis enduro bike and will probably return to its natural place in the Ibis lineup as their do-it-all trail bike.

Still, some riders prefer full 29er enduro bikes, and the lack of that might push them to other brands like Pivot, Yeti, Santa Cruz, Transition, Specialized, etc that do offer this option.

If I were Ibis and put some serious R&D on the new HD6, I would have offered both MX and full 29er setups to maximize sales, especially in times like these. But that's just me... (-:

This is worth listening to: Norco on their New High-Pivot Optic and Sight (Ep.211) | Blister

I've suspected that adjustments can alter the suspension kinematic even if the geometry is preserved. With how much of Ibis' reputation on how their suspension performs, I'm sure they were unwilling to make any compromises that some other brands might be willing to make.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Ripmo V3 get a bump in travel. Hopefully, it doesn't give up that last 10 mm so willingly this time around...

Hey, new guy here. Current bike is a 27.5 Yeti SB140 set up mullet with a 160 in front. I've been taking a hard look at the HD 6 and looks like good reviews everywhere. Anyone have any negatives to point out (I think taller riders may deal with being unbalanced with statis seat stays, but I'm on the shorter end, so that wouldn't apply). Also, anyone have a view on whether this bike is a size-up or size-down consensus beyond depends on where you ride (I'm in the East Coast jank, so not a lot of flow, which would typically mean size down). Thanks for any input.

Ingenious indeed!
At my age I'd forget they were in there...
=sParty
Just crossed 65, and I think I remember I put the chain links somewhere in the fork. People liked where I put them, but exactly where was it ...

BTW: I am really hoping for a HD6 Junior: 150/140 or so, mullet, same looks, 5.5 pound frame w/o shock. A reincarnation of the Mojo line? My last bike?

BTW BTW: I finally have a real reason to get a new bike and put the HD3 in retirement. Neck problems are forcing me to go around with 50 mm of spacers and 2" riser bars. It works but it is a bit off and I need a lot of weight to the front to keep things in check. The HD3 stack (medium) is around 599, the current norm for that size at IBIS, around 625 with the exception of the Exie, should help fix the "problem".

If you like the size you've got you can punch it in to 99spokes.com for a direct comparison.
Seems like S2 is more or less M equivalent of the older models.

The front wheel will arrive one day. Meanwhile here is mine in more gravity form. Unfortunately I won't get to ride it properly for at least 3 more months due to injury, but everything I learnt from my Ripmo customisations have been applied here.

DVO Onyx/Jade (the 36 Onyx rebound adjuster does not clear the bottom tube on size S2 hence the funky spacer)
SQlab 16 degree sweep bar
ODI Dreadlocks grips
XT brakes and shifting
Endura Maxhit 30mm stainless BB
155mm Hope Evo cranks
Alugear 30 tooth oval ring
XX1 chain
E13 Helix R cassette 9-52 teeth
Bontrager line30 carbon rims
Continental kryptotal DH, soft rear, Ultra soft front.

My first ever attempt at ride wrap didn't turn out too bad, the satin finish looks great, just some bubbles as I was learning.

34lbs/15.5kg zero effort made to save weight.

Does anyone know off hand if the decals on the top tube are under the clear coat or over? Looking at an HD6 as the next whip, but not sure I need it telling me its an HD6 in such bold font.
I agree that the HD6 writing on the frame is big, but it's actually not that bad.
It's all over Ibis lineup ever since they had their rebranding and new logo.
Maybe it's something you get used to after a while :)
