Does anyone feel the astroturfing speaks to the character of the people running the company? With all the glowing "reviews" of the bike (likely bought and paid for) being spammed all over the interwebs, it's really kind of strange that they'd waste their time doing such a thing.

Yes, it means that Fezzari's accepted mode of operating is just to hide that you are affiliated with them and based on the willingness of Ari employees to jump in with useless inane "you go Ari!" Seems like it was expected for the name release.

Say what you want, I love my Fezzari. It’s weird that people get so hung up over a name.
I have a Fezzarri Empire road bike i bought 4 years ago. I have over 20,000 miles on it. I have family that lives right by their office and shop. They have given me the great service. The name isnt my favorite but not buying something because of the name is kind of juvinile. If it is great bike it shouldn't matter. Ari maybe better but not by much.

they said 'oops sorry. Oh gee that was the marketing guy we hired nothing to do with us, turns
out he'd done this before. yadayadayada so we fired/won't reuse that guy'

I agree, as owner of a road bike with a terrible name (Triban), it doesn't matter to me anymore because it rides well.

When I was doing research on entry level road bikes I was immediately put off with the Triban brand name since it sounded like terrorist organization, or a pharmaceutical drug, but gave it try because reviews stated it rode well; luckily it did.

Rationally speaking a name shouldn't matter but it does matter because people are irrational. A brand name that sounds like a knockoff luxury car company does not give a good first impression with folks who are brand savvy regardless of how it rides.

Looks like one guy came up with this, after people made fun of the original name. Really should have spent 10K to at least hire a rebranding person or small firm, and done it right. Sorry for appearing negative but this is so amateurish and not creative at all. Now it sounds like some older Hebrew-origin guy.
This has all the earmarks of a high dollar rebranding effort. So......OUCH!

I wonder how long, if ever, people will actually call them Ari ... If they fall people will obviously blame the name and they'll go down as a joke in the industry. If they succeed, it'll be the greatest rebrand that's not really a rebrand in MTB history!
I think they will succeed whether or not the ARI name sticks because they are making a good product at a good price. PB commenters aside, most bike buyers respond to a good value proposition.

I hated the name Fezzari and Ari is even worse (except if you're one of my Jewish friends with said moniker), but I love my Shafer and would readily buy from them again (and no, I don't work for them). View attachment 2084770
I think their direct competition is really with Canyon in the online ship-to-order biz, and Fezzari's customer service was great whereas Canyon screwed up a prior order so bad I canceled it entirely.
I love my Shafer too, now he have to share the name with a comedian.

Oi vey! I watched a video where the owner explained the meaning behind "Fezzari", and yeah it seems like he just can't let it go. Branding is important! Judging from comments it seems widely perceived as a silly name.

It reminded me of a winery my late wife and I visited where they explained it was named after some astronomy term with a spiritual double-entendre. My wife simply asked the girls, "Which one of you is Emma, and does she have any tips?" It seemed like they didn't get it... 🤣

I'm sorry for your loss. It sounds like she had a delightfully twisted sense of humor.

That’s a great name. I’d totally ride an… analemma.

I actively disliked the name fezzari. Ari? Sure, whatevs. No company needs a stupid name holding them back, speshially a bike company in 2024.

Trying to figure what ari stands for:
American rice institute?
Architectural review inc?
Analemma rides it

Tribans are great bikes! Though some riders have complained of side effects including:

heartburn
Diarrhea
Nausea
Hairy palms
Erections lasting more than 4 weeks
Baboon-ass-like rashes
Dreams involving Picard
Itchy Johnson Syndrome

contact your local mtbr admin if symptoms persist.

Starting to kick a head horse. I just saw this cool short video clip on the Ferrata Trail in Switzerland. Really cool trail. Rebar hoops mounted into a sheer cliff with an upper cable to grab onto. (I'd like to see some mtb rider figure out how get across this trail on a mountain bike.)

I like how Ferrata sounds, versus other copycat, sounds similar to, and/or abbreviated bike names....
