Wondering if anyone has had to replace one of these?

The drive-side cap on my Enduro R cranks fell off during a ride.

5Dev doesn't seem to sell small parts...

Anyone know if the RaceFace Cinch caps work?

Or anyone know how to get replacement caps from 5Dev?

Also - non-driveside is reverse threaded. Anyone know if the driveside is also reverse-threaded?

Seriously, they charge that amount of money for their stuff and then they are not even able/willing to provide simple replacement parts? Actually I think would try to make that a warranty claim. Those things shouldn´t fall off if installed properly, no? Even if they don´t honour the warranty at least they may be willing to sell you something to get you going again.

I have emailed them - hopefully they will respond soon.

Not holding my breath, though, as I emailed them with a question regarding installation when I first bought the cranks and they never replied, even after I followed-up a few times.

I agree too that the cap should not have fallen out in the first place.

However, as the cranks came with no installation instructions and there are no instructions on their site it is difficult to tell whether they were installed correctly or not...

I really like the cranks...customer service could definitely be a bit better.

The one time I had an issue and emailed them, they got back to me the next day and were quite friendly and helpful. The email response to me had a contact number attached: (858) 505-0086

Maybe calling them will get a better response for you.

I would say this - they really should have some sort of documentation on their website.

The cranks came with no instructions, there are no instructions on their site, the only torque values are on the self-extracting caps.

I know it isn't very hard to install cranks, but if I pay $500 + for a set I'd like some sort of user manual or instructions, even if I have to go to the manufacturer's site to get them.

I was only referencing the fact that they show no small parts on their site and none are available from any of their retailers, which seems odd for a company selling premium products.
I agree these things should be readily available and published. It has been my experience with a notable number of products that offered little or no publicly available information, were very helpful in hooking me up when contacted through phone or email.

Just because there is no parts shown on the website does not mean they are unwilling to offer them. Reach out to them.

Also, just to throw this out, San Diego got hit hard with a rainstorm around a week ago that caused massive flooding in some areas. I don’t know where the flooding was in relation to 5dev or their employee residences, but their attention may be on other issues right at this moment. SoCal is also going to be hit by an even bigger storm starting today that is supposed to last most of the week and has the potential to cause widespread flooding and landslides across the region.

From my understanding, the bike side of 5dev is more of a passion project for their owners and not the main focus of their business model. Taking care of their main customers and their orders is probably going to be their primary focus over the bike side.

This is what I don't agree with.

If you are going to ask people to pay hard-earned money for bike parts on which they rely when participating in a sport that involves some real risk, you need to back those products up with good documentation and good support.

Obviously, if you are hit by a natural disaster that's one thing, but just, as a rule, prioritizing "real" customers over bike customers does not fly with me.

We are all just speculating here - maybe I will hear from them this week.

But, if you are going to charge real money for real products, you have to stand behind them.

How hard would it be to write up one page of instructions, with torque values, etc., and put them in every box?

They don't even tell you the torque values for the direct-mount chainring bolts.

Believe me, if I had stripped the chainring bolt hole threads when installing the chainring, I would have been pissed.

I completely agree with you on the documentation issue, I think it’s pretty poor form not to have any kind of instructions with their products. Those should have been posted on their site, easy to find, a long time ago. The day they went live with the product, to be exact.
