Great day in Southern New Mexico, with a high of 55 degrees and lots of sun. Rode out to Picacho Peak to enjoy nature and my new Revel Bikes Big Iron, nine miles roundtrip. The road out to the peak has sandy patches and can be pretty rock and rough in stretches. I likely still am running my tires too high, 10 psi today, but I see why some people have serious suspensions on fat bikes. I got a little bounced around on some slopes, as I only have a basic French suspension, Les Bras et Les Jambes. Still it was a great ride as I get used to a fat bike. I especially like the Dillinger 5 tires on sandy and rocky terrain.
That is Las Cruces in the valley, and the volcanic peak, Picacho, here on the west side of the Rio Grande.
