Got a '24 Factory replacement when my original performance X2 started making squish noises. Went through my LBS where I bought the Levo.

Fox also answers the phone, so don't hesitate to call if you've got questions.

New X2 going strong so far... Knock on carbon.
How does it feel out on the trail compared to your old one? Any substantial difference in ride feel?

Mine feels amazing and it’s not even broke in yet. I can’t find any faults with it. I have it set at the fox recommended settings for the psi I need to get 30% sag. I don’t have the previous version to compare it to though. The only thing I can compare it to is the dozen or so shocks I’ve had in the past. The new X2 feels better than any shock I’ve ever had. And the Marzocchi coil kit in the Fox 36 Rhythm is a very good match for the X2 shock.

My friend just called them he said they told him they are giving a brand new 24 with all the upgraded internals. He said they told him to be advised, they are now 6-8 weeks behind and out of several sizes. So if you have an extra bike to ride or under snow, and can spare some time, send it in. You need to get an RA number from Fox website under the warranty section. To me, it’s basically a recall. As someone already mentioned, with out calling it that. By word of mouth.
Talked with them recently, and they are going to replace my 210 x 55 shock, although, they said they may not have the identical stroke as listed on the shock's serial number. I was told that the shock's stroke would be matched by removing some reducers or something like that, although the serial number would read something different. Has anyone run into this yet? They said it depends on availability.

Yes, that’s now mine is. They took a pen, crossed out the number on the box and wrote in the correct number.

Curious, what size was it originally and did they charge you for return shipping?
Long answer: I bought the shock, brand new from someone who had sent their previous version off their Trek EXe back to Fox to be fixed, three times. They sent him the new ‘24 version and he didn’t know that the new version was redesigned. So, he didn’t want to deal with it anymore. It was for sale for a while for $300. I almost passed on it, till I decided to do some research. I learned that the new version was redesigned and that so far, it seems to be reliable. So, I offered him $200 and now the shock is mine.

Short answer: I don’t know.

To answer the size question, it’s a 205 x 62.5. The OEM size is 205 x 60. The label on the box has the 60 crossed out and 62.5 hand written in its place.

Exactly.

Same, and I verified shaft stroke before mounting.

The shock I got didn't show up correctly on the Fox site when entering the serial number. It just redirected to an OE login....

But seeing as the stoke did not match what it said on the box (crossed out and hand written in), I doubt it will match what it says on the Fox site either if it does show up there.

No charge for anything from Fox.

I have a 2021 model and wrote into Fox, I have some issues that sound like they are related to this problem. they came back in an email and wanted to know what kind of service I had done. I let them know that I had this thing on the shelf as a spare and it really only had 8-10 rides on it (which is true). So they said go ahead and send it in and there may be some delays depending on inventory.

They'll just replace it... But yeah, they're backed up right now.

Got my new 2024 X2 back from local Fox service yesterday, but contrary to others in this thread there are no obvious signs on the box that the stroke has been changed from the 60mm stated to the 65mm it should be.

Any way I can verify without opening the thing up?

Put it on the bike and check. They’ll make it right if it’s wrong.

I sent my 2022 X2 in for service. I asked Fox they can either service it for me or hook me up with a new 2024 model. They hooked me up with a new 2024 model. No questions asked!

I bought a new Pivot Firebird in November, got it wrapped and when the LBS went to set the sag, the MY22 X2 Factory squelched and sank to the floor. They sent it in to Fox under warranty and I heard back from the LBS today that they received a MY24 X2 Factory. It took 3 weeks and a day from when they packaged it up and sent it in.

When did you send it in and how long did it take? Just curious if they’re catching up.
Forgot to respond. My turn around was 1 week to include shipping. They took care of it quick. They ship out of CA and I'm in WA so it was faster to ship.
