so the real question - as Im interested in the instinct - grab a current gen Instinct at a killer deal over the winter? or wait - I suspect the update will be more light evolution and nothing "game changing" - but thats always the game to play - good deal on current or wait

If the current version matches what you're looking for in a bike (geo, pedaling performance etc) then pull the trigger now. The new version could go a different direction you may not like.

I think the evolution will be fairly major- I suspect they're going to have SRAM drivetrains and different suspension design, check out the picture earlier in the thread.

Having said that- I like the current model a lot, so I'd totally recommend it. I was looking at a lot of different bike options and didn't see anything I liked more. You could always wait until February/March, the older model years probably won't sell out by then.

appreciate some sounding board ideas here - yeah - I doubt they will sell out before spring and maybe thru the dreads of winter some extra special deals w emerge... anyone have any direct comparison to a Ripmo V2? I rode one for 3 years - on an Alchemy Arktos now.

I dont think real life standover heights for Rockies are much different than the competition. They just measure different - see a thread on this topic.

I personally don't care what bb standard they choose provided the frame alignment is good.

Back to the topic at hand, what does everyone think on the odds they delineate the instinct and altitude? Altitude to new suspension platform, instinct to stick with old and receive tweaks.

got pulled pretty quick - someone errored on that
details described - updated geo, suspension kinematics, in frame storage and of course color - was a tan/burgndy 2 tone. Was not a high/mid pivot like new Norco's - for the fleeting moments it looked like current iteration but a small pic I could not further access
