Primitive, but effective, I suppose. The trouble is how few people actually can properly preload them. The other issue is replacement cups, or lack thereof.

Folks replacing ball bearings: just imagine what it would do for the ball bearing maker’s stock price!
But..but they are awesome in maintenance and very convenient and a lost art🤓

The big problem with the poll is that other choice... 8mm everywhere... who the hell wants 8mm allen everywhere? Thats like a joke or something. I think that'd be a huge mistake since I'm always losing 8mm allen keys. Long term convenience means using an adjustable wrench on everything so I vote a more reasonable standard like a nice tidy 3/4" square head bolt.
Thats how you make it a tough choice.
