Truckee, South Lake, North Lake... just anything in the general region really...

I only know this because it was killing me not to ride last weekend:

Corral - Armstrong Connector
Tahoe Mountain
Sawtooth / Happy Face area
Jackass and a couple of trails in that area are ridable

Lots of rain/thunderstorms in the forecast. We just had a pretty legit storm system pass through Truckee earlier this afternoon. Pack accordingly.

I rode Sawtooth/Happy Face and other area trails last weekend, the trails were in good shape, although there were still a lot of pine cones and bramble on Two Beavers and a Bear. I rode up the fire road toward the top of Lower Big Chief and ran into snow, I cut over and got a couple of miles of Lower Big Chief in. The trail needs cleaning and there are still some patches of snow, I'd say give it a couple of weeks.

Anyone know if lower Tyrolean downhill or flume trail are ridable yet? I saw that Flume Trail Bike shop isn't doing shuttles to spooner lake until 3rd weekend of June, so probs not yet, but curious if anyone has better intel...

I just filtered that Strava segment to just 2023 and nope...no rides on it as of yet. Note even the Incline flume trail that goes across Diamond Peak had any results this year yet either. Mist be pretty socked in with snow still.

I was there last weekend without my mtb, but did a bunch of gravel rides. Saw bunch of cars/bikers on Jackass parking, so I assume that is open. However I tried to ride Brockway hwy on my gravel bike (starting from Northstar) and it was completely covered in snow, had to turn around.

Donner Lake Rim Trail is 99% rideable and running well. Some snow fields towards the top that will probably be gone next weekend. Was able to make it from Bermgarten to drifter hut and down Wendin without too much issue today.

I ended up riding Clear Creek outside of Carson City, the trail was fully clear all the way to the TRT.
Lot of rain happened that weekend, so maybe that helped melt some trails?

Fire and ice, lots of snow. So is Western states at the fiber board intersection, across from the bottom of fire and ice.

That’s not Western States. It’s the Rim. But it is snowy indeed. So is OTB. The Rim after fire and ice, East, is clear most of the up to the Watson Peak trail. Snowy east if there until you get lower.

Corral, Armstrong pass Connector are great. I made it up 7/10 of a mile up Armstrong pass trail (pic) yesterday. I kept walking past each 3 foot long snow patch thinking “If I just walk over this small pile, maybe it’s wide open for another mile”. Nope, flatlander mentality. Any news on Lily Lake Trail?

Jellystone Park was great Saturday, still moisture in most of the trails. Super fun. Jackass was very fun as well.

Today, Hoots-Talon-Scotts all running well. Talon is just non-stop excitement.

Tree down on lower big Cheif. About half the trail is ridable. The rest of the lower area is running great and is packed with happy mtb riders. Almost no traffic jams on the trails

How is the Poison Oak at Talon / Scotts Drop and back along Dascomb Trail? (where nobody goes anymore, across from Talon on the other side of 20)

After a trip to riding on the coast, need to stay away from Poison Oak for a year or so.

And BTW - speaking of Nevada City - can anyone fill us in on what's going on at the bottom of Talon Show (where it turns into the "Unkindness of Ravens" climbing track)? There seems to be a (taped-off) new trail being built there. Where will this end up going?

That trail will be another downhill-specific trail that will also use Unkindness as the uphill trail. It should open this year.

I believe they're planning to build 3 more downhill specific trails there.
