Slik only does the "Santa Cruz" logo on the downtube though right? I'm looking for a place that replaces the "Nomad CC" on the top tube, and the "VPP" logo on the seat tube also. So far only place I've found that can do that is InvisiFrame.

Anyone heard yet when the new Nomads with transmission will be available? I haven’t had any luck. It’s going to be my first full suspension bike. Have a Chameleon with every little bolt on imaginable. Haha. Hardtail+ enduro bike= happy me. I hope.

Hey!

My N4 I had a coilshock with a bearingmount. On my N6 the airshock that came stock had the standard 30x8mm. Is the bearingmount a thing of the past?
I'm considering a coilshock, especially the RS SD with the new HBO. Can I order a standard shock with 230x65mm? Does it need some tuning?

Thanks

The bearing mount is just hassle in terms of maintenance and creaking, especially with the amount of water/mud that hits that area. Even with the fender. Bushings are fine.

SC specs a SD with a medium tune, but the recommends opening up some of the adjusters. The retail version of the SD Coil comes with a light tune. I ended up running mine in the middle or close to it. Unless you're super heavy or regularly run your compression fully closed, the retail light tune will be fine. The adjustment range on the SD is pretty good.

I get the excitement, I think I would have waited to build it up until after RideWrap!
The bike sat in the box for 5 days. Tried to wait but then for an email saying the ridewrap was delayed and I couldn't wait any longer. Just had to see it built even if I can't ride it. Bronson will have to suffice for now

Currently have a Hightower v2, 160mm travel and a cascade link. Have loved owning it but now looking for something to compliment the steeper, rougher riding + coil compatibility. Do a lot of 5000ft days, enduro style riding in Scotland, wales and Peak District - mostly tight, steep natural trails. thoughts on the nomad 6 for this style of riding? What is it like to pedal all day and how does the mullet feel on more steep, natural style trail? For now it’ll be my only bike, but will be looking at a Tallboy down the line for a 2 bike garage anyone ridden both the Hightower and nomad?

havent ridden a ht2 but i have an altitude and have had a lot of other trail bikes (stumpjumper, druid, ranger, etc). The mullet takes a little bit to get used to, but all my friends ride full 29ers and i keep up with them fine. i do a big 7000-8000ft day about once a week and its no problem on the nomad. in the steeps it excels, i keep mine in high position and its plenty slack for the gnarliest of steeps around here. it is a pretty long bike so it takes a bit of skill to get around super tight corners but youll get used to it. I would recommend it.

I'd add that it's one of those bikes that comes alive at speed. You can ride it lower angle slower stuff fine, but it's only when things get steeper and faster that it wakes up. Once it gets going, every pump and compression seems to generate more speed, but it stays stable. The suspension feels bottomless.

I haven't ridden mine on any shitty Euro-style z-corners, but I'd imagine it would be a bit of a handful on those. For steep, tight radius corners it's fine as long as you set up wide at the entrance then lean over hard.

The suspension while seated pedaling has a bit of movement but I'm fine climbing fire roads unlocked. It's not as super firm out of the saddle as the Megatower 1 & HT2, but that's a tradeoff they made for better descending performance. For a really long day I'd probably use the climb switch. It seems somewhat active for out of the saddle pedaling unless your body weight and pedal strokes are just right. Again, I haven't had a chance to ride it on any long techy climbs yet, but I could see pros and cons to the suspension for it. It probably has good grip, but isn't max efficiency like those other bikes I mentioned.

Likewise, I've been able to hang with my full 29 crew with no issues. In fact, I've cleaned some climbs I've never made before with it. I'm running the RS SDU and that lockout is a solid lockout which is perfect for flat grinds. I also run LSC in the middle to give me a little support for everything else. Running a 180mm zeb up front too!

Anyone try fitting a soft water bottle in the glove box?
Wondering whether any of these would fit

I've heard its possible but haven't tried yet. I'd think the rigid cap will rattle though.
