It was bound to happen at some point and it did today...wow!!! Talk about balls, those two dudes really are crazy!!!
They’re nuts hey.
sttack attack break elastic to the point where neither T-S91 nor SSR can do anything except help each other. Chris looked hammered.
Nino looked like he needed a holiday soon.
Clearly win or lose OLSCR have a winning formula

It's like watching two Kulhavy's go on a tear for 8 days...

That's becoming very obvious. I would have bet money that they'd be fighting for the podium on every stage.
Keegan is interesting. I have no idea what he could really do on his own at Cape Epic. Last year he was a little more in the mix. I think maybe Lachlan is too far removed?

They have been getting so little air time, no real idea how they are doing. However, this race seems to have set Keegan up really well last year for the US gravel scene. It will be interesting to see if that happens again.

On the surface it looks like only Keegan (US Gravel), Sophia (US Gravel), and Nino (WC) benefitted from the cape epic last year - I don't pay attention to everyone so I know I am missing others.

I think if Keegan was in a team with another Keegan he'd be sort of a Wilier type level. I don't think he'd be fast enough to win overall even with no issues. I'd be more curious to see how Keegan would go on the XCM or XCO World Cup. It may not do his brand any huge advantage to find out though.

Currently his reputation is immense (and his ability/talent), but he's big fish, small ponding it these days with LTGP.

I really like Sofia, and want her to do well and race at the front.

I don't buy that she came into this without expecting to vie for the win. I think that she, quite reasonably, figured that she was head and shoulders above the field without the top end international talent. The South African teams have looked awesome all week despite all their issues.

Keegan did the WC a couple years ago. His placing was never anything to talk about. His reason has always been - his start position was too low. With what he has going and the amount of $ he must be bringing in, I don't know why he would choose to go back to being pack fodder in a WC race.

Blevins was racing a couple of the gravel pros in California this year and trading wins back and forth. But, then he gets to Cape Epic and just seems to be on another level.

Has there been any updates or news on what Nino's mechanical is?

I hope he and Andri are recovered to fire a shot back at SCR tomorrow.
It was mentioned (stage 5), that he was having problems with his electronics. The announcer guessed from all the water. I assume that means his derailleur quit.

Keegan is incredible and a huge talent but the world elite's... even an aging Nino... is just on another level. Not to mention he seems thrive in the 100-200 mile gravel races. That's a lot different than XCO or long stage races like this.

Yeah, I don't think he's done a World Cup since "leveling up" his training though. I don't think he's gotten faster relative to the World Cup XCO field. I'd be interested to see though.

I'm more intrigued by the XCM circuit with it being World Cup status. He did XCM World's and looked pretty good until things went wrong. A lot of the XCM races don't have that much technicality though which brings in a lot more riders that would not be able to feature otherwise.

Have you watched “Call of a Lifetime?”

I did. I can’t stop thinking how unflattering that made her look. Potty mouth at the least. Something else at the worst.
