A few weeks ago Motorex completed acquisition of Spectro oils USA.

Not sure what this will mean for Spectro brands longer term. But it gives Motorex a lot of capability in the US market:

No, Im not. I've used both oils and didn't noticed any difference when I used it on my motorcycles. Both overpriced. Maxima makes good stuff. The Spectro brand has been out for over 20 plus years.

Let's not turn this into an Oil thread
You've just turned it into an oil thread. Why stop now?

What oils were you using? Engine, chain, suspension?

Nothing smells better that Golden Spectro 2 stroke premix oil coming out of the dirt bike.
Mmmmmmm.....

I use both brands quite often, looks to be a win in my book.
I beg to differ, nothing smells better than Bel Ray premix coming out of a two stroke dirt bike. 🙂

Did anyone actually ever buy Spectro oil? I've lived my entire life (yes, embarrassing as it is, I've never been outside the country despite having lived just half a day's drive from the border for the past six years) in the US and literally never seen a Spectro bottle in person before. And my entire life has been spent around motorcycles too. Still no Spectro.

I've had guys deliberately ride behind me for long periods of time when I was mixing Castor 927 with 50/50 AV gas. That's just crackhead ****.
It was the lead poisoning from the avgas fumes. I just mix my 927 with premium pump gas. All the good smellz, with less heavy metal poisoning. And it's significantly less expensive than mixing with avgas.

Motorex 4wt is a closer viscosity match to Spectro. Unless you are seeking lighter damping
It's only a 1.5cst difference so don't really think it'll make a noticeable difference imo but we'll see. if I remember right full shimmed dampers are not very sensitive to viscosity as long as you stay around a 15cst fluid, I've asked @Dougal about it before and he says they are pretty much identical fluids and I already have 3Qts of the 2.5w
