Personally, I wouldn’t cut them. Will decrease resale value of bar, you payed for all that titanium son. I like to run long BMX grips and just grip the bar a little more inboard. Gives me a little more space for my hands and a real wide bar if I want.
 
I would, if you are moving your hands inward and allowing 10mm of extra bar on each side, your brain doesn't account for this and it's a prime-way to tag trees and crap with your bars. I'm happy with my 810mm bars...but if I wasn't, for sure I'd cut them down.
 
Yea, having my hands further in than I'm used to would, for sure, mess with me.

It would screw with me as well. Fine to try for fit but if I was gettin on it on a twisty trail I definitely tag a rock or tree.
My luck, I'd punch a cholla.
 
Just remember it's a tough material. It will take you a while relative to Al. NEVER cut carbon fiber with a saw..
So, how're you gonna cut cf? ;)
