Hey Crew
I'm a big Trek Fan.. I currently have both a Slash and a 2023 Trek Roscoe 7. I did a review for our YouTube channel of the new 2023 Trek Roscoe 7. I broke down the math between the new Roscoe line up and why an experienced rider should NOT but the R7 model.

What do you guys think?
Is anyone currently riding a new R7 or R8?
Did you wish you purchased the R9 right away?

Do NOT Buy The 2023 Trek Roscoe 7

If you are not interested in buying a Roscoe or a Trail HT then you probably won't enjoy the video anyway. I break down the price points and show what bike in the line up is the best value for anyone wanting to upgrade from a starter bike.
What I don't enjoy is putting my faith into YouTube personalities that I have no idea the merit of. Many of which haven't been riding as long as I have. No offense to you personally, I just think this medium has gone off the deep end with click bait and redundant yammery that doesn't tell me or anyone anything I can't deduce by looking at the bike/part etc on the company's website.

(flashy click bait image with big bewbs or big azz or huge xxxx (what ever you're into) (thank our sponsors ____) and be sure to smash that subscribe button and hit the thumbs up.

Or the ones that have some sort of sensationalized heading about whatever they're doing being the 'sickest'/scariest or whatever bullshit they're trying too hard to be 'down' about.

Or positing loaded questions formulated like, "Is carbon worth it????"

Or saying "First ride on ___, does it live up to the hype????"

It's literally the same thing everywhere, every sport/interest. Just general magoos that don't know their asses from holes in the ground, working hard to shamelessly monetize the subject and biasedly promote the **** that they just got for free...because, reach arounds make the van go vroom.

YouTube is largely a cesspit that you need to dig through fervently to find the people actually posting worthy vids with the true intent of sharing knowledge.

Even worse is the comments in general. Sycophantic cheerleaders as far as the eye can see.

You'll never believe what happened after I bought the new Roscoe 7
Bike shops hate this weird trick with a Roscoe 7
I gave up mountain biking when I rode a Roscoe 7
Trek no longer making bikes after the Roscoe 7
Roscoe 7, Roscoe 8?
I lost it with the new Roscoe 7
Van life is over, Roscoe 7 is in
I got kicked out of the bike park riding a Roscoe 7
Roscoe 7, looks like a Session

That is true.. but that is also your personal experience. So many people don't do that.. they look at what they can buy in that hot min and don't think about if the bike actually suits what they need. I'm in several Roscoe forums and SO MANY riders purchased the cheapest Roscoe 6 based on price point.. then immediately poured money into upgrades. If they sat down and did the math like you do... they could have saved money and started with a better bike.

You should add a poll option for other. All 3 of those bikes are seriously overpriced. There are much better values out there for similar performance and build spec.
There are not many options that come better equipped than the R9 at $2700. What have you seen on the market that is close? One viewer pointed out to me that the Vitus VRX 29 comes close and is $700 cheaper... but you have to get it form the UK... not sure what shipping is, plus its a fox 34, exterior cable routing, 130mm fork, and a few other details not as nice as the R9.

I want a Santa Cruz Chameleon! Why? Because I have 2 other SC bikes in my garage :D
The Chameleon is a GREAT bike.. by GF has the 2022 MX ( you can see it hanging in the background of the video) ... BUT spec wise the SC if over priced. $2400 and coming in with a recon fork and Sram SX drivetrain is a little high. The Roscoe 9 is all Shimano SLX/XT, Fox 36 fork, 108T hub, all for only $300 more.

I don’t watch video reviews without knowing the presenter’s qualifications. To help, please advise:

1) How many wheelsets have you built,
2) Your position on pressfit bottom brackets, and
3) If you have a bmx background.
1) How many wheelsets have you built,- zero - I let professionals do that... that does not mean I don't know the difference between a low and high engagement hub.
2) Your position on pressfit bottom brackets, and- why would I want a pressfit BB? Lets go threaded please
3) If you have a bmx background.- I do- used to race ABA BMX- that is why I got into MTB

Oh no doubt it's much higher than other bikes out there. For me, it's the pleasure of owning a Santa Cruz. I rode their skateboards when I was young so I feel like a big kid when I ride my SC bikes.

I love Trek bikes. They have an awesome warranty and their bikes just work. I used to ride a Trek Emonda for a couple years and that bike made me a believer that I can climb just about any hill out there. I've always wanted a Trek Session so maybe one day I'll own one.

Fair enough, and like I said, no offense to you personally. My comments are based on the platform itself and the general, over-indulgent bullshit that comes forth from it.
I understand 100% - we watch a lot of YT videos for comparisons and so many are garbage. We try not to be garbage.
