I typically run trail casing tires with inserts but thinking about moving to a heavier duty casing without them. Who has had time running both setups?
This is on my aggressive trail/enduro bike. Ill take it most anyone here in NorCal/Bay Area. Local “enduro” loop is 10 miles with 2500-3k vert. The trails on the way down are often steep, loose, rooty with some rocky chunk sprinkled in.What type of trails do you normally run? How fast?
That’s some good info.I prefer DD casings. My pressures are about the same between DD w/o CC and EXO w/ CC but the DD has more predictable handling characteristics including folding.
sigh. That hurts the wallet.EXO Aggressor and Tannus Tubeless insert in the rear for me.
EXO and insert is lighter than a DD casing. I like the small amount of sidewall support the TT insert offers and contrary to others experience, I’ve never had a tread puncture with the insert in.
the only flat I’ve had in the last year also killed the rim. No casing or insert would have survived it.
I weigh 165, ride a 170/165 enduro bike (Long-shocked RipmoAF) with the line choice of Helen Keller, living and racing in Arizona, where tire companies come to torture test tires.
Use inserts when you run out of heavier casings - until then it was always better choice for me go with heavier casingI typically run trail casing tires with inserts but thinking about moving to a heavier duty casing without them. Who has had time running both setups?
