Oh man, a mosquito net visor perch. Never thought about that option:) Tried to take my wife trail riding in rural Ontario a few years back, there were TERRIBLE horse flies. My idea was to ride fast enough to keep them off, she didn't like this idea...

Yes, from recollection the criticism of MIPS was that the lab tests didn't translate well to actual road/trail usage/scenarios.

On a side note, now that I ride mtb bikes/helmets, I'm pretty shocked at the lack of rear coverage on some of my road helmets. I know you're most likely to go forward or off the side while road riding, but damn, sure seems like some lower protection in the back wouldn't be a bad idea. Then again, to be fair, most of my road helmets are pretty high end ones designed for speed/light weight. The next time I buy a road helmet, once I've aged out of road racer wannabe category, I'll definitely opt for one with better all-around skull protection.

Full face helmet on the downs, boony cap on the climbs when it’s hot, still gotta be careful when climbing, better to walk with a boony cap then sweat your balz off in a helmet.

Just got this on sale at the LBS. It's really light and the vents are massive. It's gonna be cold come winter. No visor though.
First ride on my non-motorized bike. 98 F but it was only 9% humidity. Gotta love the Southwest. Had plenty of water.

Head was relativley cool - 15 miles, 1500 ft climbing.

A white helmet on your handlebars if it is a purely uphill section works for me, unless there is a lot of oncoming DH traffic. I would never own a black helmet.
Physics, and all.

I forgot to update this thread, but I ended up getting the POC Ventral Air, and then zip-tying on a visor from an old Giro Helmet. The more "mountain biking" and enduro helmets with the visors and extra side and back protection didn't work out well because it would hit my ears.

Best "cooling" helmet I have owned so far that get you the most protection without being hot like the MIPS is Lazer Kintecore helmets a much better design IMO.
