So I'm having a bit of a mental block here.
I have a new little prototype CNC machine and I need to make some sample parts, video, etc of what it can do.
I want to make some bike bits, but i just cant think of some good ideas - besides chainrings.

This are not items to sell, they are purely for entertainment value, so they don't need to make much sense as a "product" but should be a usable item (not a prop or model).

So far I got:

- a 1x chainring for my magic motorcycle road crank, which is an actual part I need.

aaaand, that's about it haha.

I know there's a million little things I could make, just cant think of them.

Thoughts? Cutting volume is 280mm x 300mm x 100mm. Can be aluminium, titanium, stainless, steel, wood, plastic...

Stem cap springs to mind.
Maybe even a stem if you're feeling adventurous.
Stem cap I did think of, its more of a lathe part, the hard part if when you flip it over. Ill have to think of a way to do that.

A stem itself, kinda too large, as you need to stick it on end to hollow it. If its a super stubby 35-40mm though, that might fit.

thanks

Seat collar, cranks, axles, pedals,
Seat collar, I like that.
Crank I do not think I could make precise enough successfully (to mate with bb30 spindle for example). I did design one.
Axles are pure lathe work, cant do them on a mill.
Pedals (platforms anyway) would be too tall to drill for the axle.

thanks

Which CNC machine did you just get? I've been looking at the Shariff DMC2
Its a prototype of my own design although I used a couple parts from the original prototype Xzero mini for convenience (my friend made those)

40000rpm spindle, ground screws, ac servos. So its fairly precise but things like the bb30 crank connection require a level beyond what this machine can do, and its a bit boring and misleading to make one that's not really functional.

Ask my FIL. he's made modified many parts for me. Btween him an his buddies I'm sure they can make anything . He only had two Bridgeport mills. One is hand done other is CNC. modified stem to fit my lefty bike.

So I googled that machine, saw kickstarter, little black machine.. saw price.... laughed... looked closer, watched video...
You know, that looks pretty awesome. Guy seems to know what he's doing (he's from my city, so... haha).
The spindle and mechanicals aren't on par with mine, but at less than half price so you gotta cut some corners, and it looks like he was wise in which ones to cut. That's the best looking "cheap" metal cutting machine right now I think (xzero mins arent available anymore).
