Bump for “not vapor ware.” Anyone seen (or bought) one. Paper says it’s about perfect for mid-Atlantic riding.

I saw one review on line…but it didnt say much aside from : I like it more than the old one.
Excellent question. I inquired myself and was told they were in-store. When I pressed, they meant the 2021 models. Seems insane that the 2022 models are still not in. (this is Australia)

Curiousity got the best of me, so I went to Giant store. i was told they were expecting delivery around “week 22.” Said I should check back in April To see if they can expedite an XL.

I had the opportunity to demo the team bike. Wow it’s really responsive. Steering felt lively despite the 44mm offset fork and slackness. It also pedals really well with the sensible seat Tube angle and lay back dropper. Really nice race bike for XCO or XCM

Now…If they only existed in real life. Follow up: LBS couldn’t get one in April…or May. I was waiting since the first announcement back in October (or whatever), I gave up and went a different way.

it’s almost impossible for me to grasp how on earth the largest bike company in the world can’t put a flagship bike on the shelves.

My local supplier only has 7bikes in stock and the one o demo’d was one of the team riders bikes that had been de live valved. It had three position dps with a fox 34SC set at 110mm . Absolute rocket ship up the steep loose climbs . I loved how much traction it could generate without that dead feeling of the Maestro link suspension. Through the twisties it was really sharp, similar to the current scalpel but with a slightly more hint of wanting to understeer. The epic by comparison feels like it wants to push the front Al the time and needs more front end weighting. The Giant feels a bit like a pivot maxh4, ibis Exie , cannondale scalpel and excels in all terrain. It’s a really really good XC race bike.
The 7 bikes are all pre sold and there’s more arriving in September but all sold already. I would only be able to get my hands on one in March 2023….

That review is what I was imagining...and why I wanted one. But Oct 21 - May '22 was a long enough wait...and even in May, I couldn't get an "arrival time" or even a reasonable estimate. If it's really March '23, I'm really glad I didn't wait around any longer.

US, EUrope and Australian markets were prioritised. The pricing is really sharp too so I suspect you may be the victim of a long waiting list :(
