those of you who have the san quentin, what are you doing to it? i have the 2, and will be putting an mrp ribbon coil 150 on it. other mod (is it really a mod tho?) is tubeless tires. as soon as the stock tires wear out (vee tire flow snap) i will be swapping to a double assegai or dhrii/dhf combo. post yours!

I would probably go with something faster rolling in the rear. An Assegai would be pretty draggy on the rear, but great on the front. YMMV, but I found the DHF to wash out easily on the front. The DHR on the back had awesome braking traction, but was a realy chore to pedal. I have a WTB Trail Boss on the back of my hardtail and it works a treat. The Flow Snap might work pretty well on the front. Just take the tubes out.

yeah it's tubeless now. i'm really liking how the Flow Snap tire feels f/r so i may just replace them with the same.

I think that's probably a pretty good front tire by all accounts. You might find a less aggressive rear tire will really wake up the bike. You could save the take off Snap for when the front wears out.

Here's mine with front and rear Assegai 2.5's.... It came stock with these tires but not the same wheels. It's got loads of grip but does have a bit of drag, I run about 30 psi so they add a small amount of cushion to the ride.
