Hi all,

I have a giant dropper seat post and there is excessive play side to side .
i have striped it down and the problem is two plastic keys on inner post that line up with groves on outer sleeve to stop the post from having side to side movement.
I have talked to my local giant dealer about a service kit , but they say there is not one :madman:. can any suggest where i can get these plastic keys from.

Thanks

This same part broke on my 2019 Trance 3 and it was replaced for free under warranty. My local Giant shop did have a hard time finding the part number and said they ended up finding it on the EU Giant parts site? Hope this helps.

Sorry to dredge up an old thread, but when I was looking for parts to service the Giant contact switch on my 2021 Fathom, this was the most recent tread on the topic. Thankfully there seems to have been some positive developments on sevicability. SDG components is now selling a rebranded (green!) version of the contact switch, and they are much more committed to user serviceability than Giant. As a result, you are now able to buy those semi-disposable plastic keys without the rest of the service kit (seals ect). Just look up "SDG Trellis service kit", and you can find the keys for sale at many online retailers.

My dropper post had tons of play, and even spun completely at one point. I just purchased and installed a set of SDG keys and they were identical to the original Giant keys, and fit perfectly. I'm not sure if the seals ect. supplied in the SDG full service kit will also fit on a Giant switch, or if they did fit if they would be an upgrade over the Giant stuff, but it might be worth a try if anyone is looking to replace the seals on their contact switch and can't find the Giant service kit.

Just curious if anyone has had this part break by just light sideways pressure on the saddle? Mine has broken twice now, both times from light pressure. So now I'm wondering if it's worth repairing again, or is the post possibly defective?
