After finally riding the fatty on the local trail with no snow, I have determined that I no longer need my full suspension. The only thing that really killed me was dragging all that weight around with me.

This got me to thinking about dropping weight at the wheels and going tubeless and carbon at the same time. I see the usual Chinese CF fatbike wheel makers all offer the rear only in 190x12. Unfortunately, the Brut is 190x10 QR. But they seem to use the same rear hub. Does anyone know if you can convert the 190x12 to 190x10 with a couple of endcaps? I've searched and found threads that you could maybe do it but no one seems to be able find the end caps to do so.

I bought this framset a while back and have been gathering parts up for it, found a part on ebay that allows you to use a qr skewer with a thru axle hub, was about $20 bucks, have not tried it all assmbled but initially looks like an easy way to use aftermarket hubs in the qr dropouts. Also have a question for those with the 90/100 offset rear, is the wheel laced offset at all (like a pugs) or does a stanadard aftermarket wheel mount correctly in the frame. Thanks.

Mind if I ask how much the lbs charged for the wheel build, starting to get quotes

I had my wheels set built by lacemine29.com. A regular contributor here at MTBR
I got Whiskey 9 rims with DT Swiss Big Ride Hubs. They are working out great!
Mike C. will quote you whatever you want. Check his web site. Remember to tell him about the 10mm offset rear end.

He is based in Colorado I am in Connecticut. Very nice wheels

Anyone still rocking their Brut? Mine's not sprung for the winter anymore and we finally got some decent snow in PA. Loved reading the old posts...forgot about that port strike drama. Haha.
