I just got a new bike with a 2021 Fox 36 Performance Fork and it has the spots for the bleeders but it looks like it just has a hex screw installed in the spots where the bleeders would be on the factory level forks.

Does anyone know if I can buy the bleeders separately? Or can i back those screws out periodically and get the same basic effect as the bleeders?

Thanks

I don’t have enough elevation around where I live to try this, but I assumed I could just unthread these things to have the same effect. Is that correct? Asking for that wonderful moment when I actually get to ride in mountains again...

As long as you retighten them after yes it will have the same effect.

Going to be getting this same fork soon. Would like to use the Fox Mudguard. Are the bolts the Performance model able to be tightened to secure the official Fox 38 mudguard?

I THINK it's possible, but it also looks like you might actually have to install the bleeder ports on the Performance model, to be able to use the 38 Mudguard. FWIW, I never went forward with buying/installing the bleeder ports and use a mudguard that is zip-tied to the fork.

Yes removing and reinstalling the "plugs/bolts" will release pressure in the lowers the same as the push button type bleeders that are shown on the fox page. I just recently got and installed the 2021 mudguard. Behind the lower leg plugs is a plastic washer/spacer....the new mudguard tabs are the same thickness as those spacers....remove the washer/spacer and install the mudguard with the plugs....I assume the push button release valve ones go on the same way but with a small socket instead of a hex key of course. FWIW, i think the ziptie on mudguards function just as good. I had the ass saver version on before and because of the small (downward facing) tabs on the front of the guard, it actually "knocked down" more of the mud/water that flicks off the top of the front wheel (and sometimes ends up getting you in the face). The fox one looks cleaner, but I'm indecisive on if it looks better or not

Some on here believe pressure can't possibly build up in the lowers.. I guess FOX did it as a novelty to increase sales.........
Are you going to drill your fork to find the last 30mm travel?

My fork has oil ports that double as bleeders. I've never had any pressure buildup and I get full travel. Weird huh?

Buy a Manitou, it's better in every way! :ROFLMAO:
Maybe you should. I mean you've spent a fortune on your current fork and it's still not working.
