In a direct head to head comparison of geometry, the Specialized Demo and YT Industries TUES are not all that different. They share the same 63.5 degree headtube angle, and the reach, chainstay, and wheelbase numbers are all within a few millimeters.

The big surprise is just how different the suspension kinematics appear when using simulation software to compare the anti-squat, anti-ride, pedal kickback, and leverage characteristics of both frames. Of course, we can speculate over charts and graphs, but the real test will be to see how well Aaron Gwin adapts to the new bike this season.

Interesting comparison. Seems like they have a questionable understanding of how things work.

#1 - the suspension comparisons. The first one shows wheels moving up and the frame static. The second shows the frame moving down and the wheels remaining static.

Wheel movement is of course relative, so there is no difference, but what happened to their program setup that they showed differently?

#2 - Chain growth and pedal kickback. These are two considerations of the same thing. This is directly related to the shortening of the distance between the center of the cranks and the center of the rear axle as the suspension compresses. Currently, almost all suspension designs shrink. A few designs will not shrink. VPP will shrink, then grow.

Simple geometry, nothing more.

I'm glad to see that after nearly 2 decades of full suspension "being a thing", they are finally getting off their butt and showing some of the tech and numbers behind suspension technologies. They still seem to be playing towards "confirmation bias" though, adapting test results to fit expected results, or their own ideas... or perhaps the marketing babble from the various companies.

Chain growth comes from the lengthening of this measurement . CHAIN GROWTH :)
