Is there a solution available to replace and existing MTB HG Shimano freehub (low end spec) with a Microspline freehub?
9mm QR cheap bike.

I think Giant hubs may also be very similar to Shimano.

Not likely. Most cheap hubs do not have replaceable freehubs.
No, pretty much all shimano hubs have replaceable freehubs. No idea if you can upgrade one to microspline, I'd doubt it though, Shimano probably only made it for the latest generation of hubs on the higher end.

Probably not because the ratchet mechanisms are in different places. I don't think there's enough room inside a microspline freehub for it to fit.
Yep, to make a 10t everything has to be smaller. Not a big deal if your ratchet mechanism is in the hub, like most high end hubs, but shimano has been on the same basic design for decades (only recently changed it with the new stuff) and you can't fit a reliable ratchet in the tiny cylinder on the old designs.
