The topic's question is:

Name the model
Describe + or -

Thank you.

P.s. Airmax is a garbage. Right now it's just not measuring at all. When it somehow measures - it does it with different results.

To me digital gauges are a pain compared to old school analog. Too many times it's turned a 10 second task of checking pressure into a road trip into town to find batteries.
Also, if sun is shining on dial or there's low light some can be hard to see, batteries don't like cold temps, multiple 'modes' means you need to click through a menu to get readout you want, etc.

A counter to this is that at least with a digital gauge, you can get it in the ballpark, as opposed to a 160 psi analog gauge. I remain unclear as to the rationale for that design decision.

I need an MTB tire gauge that goes up to 40 psi max. No more. I see there are some designed for fat bikes but from what I have seen, they only go to 20 psi or less. There does not appear to be anything in between these 2 extremes. I have no idea why.

Topeak D2 as a stand alone gauge even though it doesn't measures to any decimal places at all and a Topeak Shuttle (measures to .5psi) attached to the top of a hand pump as my "pump with gauge" setup.
The Schwalbe valve adapter isn't very secure and the Blackburn Honest is in the tool bag on the motorbike.

I've been using the Lifeline Gauge pictured (mine is under an Axiom label) for over 10 years without incident. It reads repetitively accurately, allows for live readings when bleeding air out of an overinflated tire with the incorporated bleed valve, can be backlit for use in the dark, and handles both presta and shrader valves with a flip of the head. What's not to like?

You might want to check this one out. I know you stated 40PSI no more but I think this would do fine. I have this gage and it's very reliable and accurate. Also keep in mind as with any type of gage they work best in the middle of their range.

So, if you check pressure 3-4 times in a minute - it'll show same result every time?
doing this on the the topeak d2 will show the same pressure, then 1psi less, [if I keep doing this]. so, very accurate and the air that farts out while repeatedly testing is noticed too and it drops by 1psi when you lose 1psi.

I use the 30psi variant of the Meiser gauge. I agree that 160psi on a gauge is pretty much useless for mountain bikes. 60 psi should be fine for regular mtb's. 30psi works for me because I DO have a fatbike, and none of my other mtb's need more than 20psi. The 160-220psi gauges on my floor pumps mostly work fine for the gravel bikes that usually get about 55psi for pavement duty, or 45psi-ish for softer gravel.

Digital tire pressure gauges are more trouble than they're worth.

I've been using the Blackburn Honest Gauge and I like it. I do wish I could find a good analog gauge that went to 20psi though. I don't ever run more than 20 psi but the fatbike gauge only goes to 15 psi and using a 30 psi gauge doesn't give the resolution I want between say 16.5 and 17 psi. The Blackburn does a good job, but I'd prefer something battery-less to just stuff in my pack and not worry about.

I have one that looks exactly like the "Lifeline" gauge. It works every time and uses a CR2032 battery...which I always have several on hand. I've had it since Price Point was blowing them out and I've only changed the battery once. I like digital gauges. It gets me back exactly to where I was. My shock pump is also digital.
