Yeah, I got scared when a very large branch fell out of the sky 20 feet from where I was standing. I was not aware I had to watch out for helicopters too.

And on a sad note, this was an absolutely devastating event for me. Kobe was my all time favorite player growing up, and I grew to like him even more in his life after basketball. Whenever I was having a bad day, I would literally watch Kobe highlights before bed. Must have watched the final 3 minutes of his last game 30 times by now. The fact that his daughter GiGi was also killed is not only tragic for the family, but I truly believe she could have legitimized the WNBA. Right now womens basketball is about as popular as a set of VHS tapes at a live auction. People would have tuned in to watch Kobe's daughter play. And she had every odd stacked in her favor to be great.

Holy sh*t! I would freak TF out if that was me. I couldn't even imagine being the one standing there. One minute.. JRA... Then around the bend, comes the site of fiery crash.. Then the speed in which news is published, just standing next to the rubble, and reading the headline right there on the spot...

And FWIW, there is a ton of riding in that part of CA and even though it's LA, there is a lot of good stuff there. I favor the ride from Reseda over goat peak area. There is this ripping DH trail that is so vert and so nasty a person wouldn't believe that was LA at all.

When I saw the drone pictures that were posted on the newspaper sites today, I saw the single tracks and thought they looked like mountain biking trails. So I was definitely wondering about this.
I believe it's the Bark Park trail (SoCal plz correct me if I'm wrong).

As a NorCal native but a Lakers fan since Jerry West days, gotta say I'm still kinda numb.
Kobe…sigh. And his daughter as well? Beyond tragic.
