I've had my 2018 Genius 920 for a couple of years now and have it dialed to my liking except for the rear end. I feel the shock is a little harsh on "medium" hits. Over mild trail chatter, my Terravail Honcho tires soak everything up. On bigger hits/drops/jumps it works just fine. But there's that middle part of the stroke I feel is too harsh and doesn't work well.

The 2019+ Genius has that upgraded Nude TR Shock with the ramp control switch. Reviews say besides the ramp control feature, it's a lot more sensitive with that extra volume. My LBS called Scott Sports to quote me on one and it came back at over $2,300 USD!!! Not a typo, that's just for the shock. And they only had one in Kashima in stock. Has anyone else tried getting one? I checked the European website Westbrook and they had it listed for much less but of course, out of stock.

See below, if you're in Europe contact the seller and see if you can convince them to ship there.

That price you were quoted and the availability of the part is why I'm always leery of bikes with super unique model-specific OEM stuff. Good luck!

Thanks. He and I have been emailing for a while. I think his price is too high for a used shock. I offered $750 and he wouldn't take it. Don't feel good about paying more than that for a used shock. I think he also bought it used so it would be a 3rd hand shock at that point. I would rather spend what he's asking or more for a new one.

I sent a message to Westbrook in Europe. They're going to check pricing and availability with Scott Sports in the UK and get back to me. They had it listed for 850 euros. I'd be fine paying that for a new one.

Not all EVOL shocks are the same, but thanks.
Evol is the air can, not the shock. It denotes the can with a larger negative volume that makes it plusher in the early/mid travel. You'd get the Evol can made for your length shock. If you have the standard negative volume can I think doing this swap could get the result you're after for well under $100 and it's easy to get from Fox in California.

Thank you for the information.

My shock (or air can) is already an EVOL=Extra volume shock. The shock on the current Genius and Ransoms have even more volume than a regular EVOL. They have a 3rd air chamber to make the unique ramp control switch work and it also has the interface to work with the TwinLoc. There simply is no other shock that has all those features.

My point with this thread was to see if anyone knew where to possibly source this specific shock. If someone knows, great. That's all.

Thanks.

The progression lever makes a huge difference in bike feel. I pulled twinloc off my 2020. It's got one ride on it- Performance Elite Nude TR, same as the 900 tuned model I had last year except it has a black stanchion instead of a kashima one. I'd do $750 shipped anywhere in the US. I can get you photos if you like. Only caveat is it's going to take me about a week to get it shipped out due to my work schedule.

Edit-nevermind I have a Ransom, SORRY! The Ransom shock is 205x65.
