Interested in getting feedback from folks who switched to a coil shock. What shock they are using and how it affected the ride.

I would. Currently I have stock shock which I actually like and stock Pike 160 with PUSH ACS3 coil conversion and its night and day compared to Air fork. I have two Pikes btw: Air and Coil, the coil has more traction and supportive after the 65% of travel use. Soaks up the bumps so well that it keeps the front end composed and tracking straight. The air fork gets overwhelmed going down chunky stuff at speed.Done it. Still need to work on dialing it for me. So far, so good though. The real question now is whether to put a coil in the fork.![]()

Looking at picking up a Bomber CR for my 2019 alloy SJ. What eye to eye and stroke shock do I need?I recently (about a month ago) switched to a Marzocchi Bomber Z1 fork/ Bomber CR coil shock.
i'm still dialing the fork in, but the coil seem to be spot-on right now, the difference between air/coil is pretty evident. i've ridden coil shocks before (on a giant reign) so i knew what to expect. running a 500lb coil for me at 177-ish lbs.
The coil will make the bike a lot more planted on rough downhills, the bike, so far remains poppy and playful.
Weight, bike went up about 2 lbs, so it's now around the 33lb mark (alu stumpy).
lastly, one small nitpick, but with the reservoir on the bomber CR i can no longer fit a bottle (Small frame), although the same would've been with a DPX2 air shock, so can't really say i have much choice here.
